ISLAND PACKET 37 CUTTER JOINS S.W. FLORIDA YACHTS’ SAIL FLEET

Cape Coral, Florida – (May 9, 2016) –“Preamble,” an Island Packet 37, has joined Southwest Florida Yachts’ sail fleet.

“She is a true sailor’s boat; from her moderate displacement, shallow draft full keel and durable construction, to her easily handled cutter rig and comfortable cabins, she is a great platform for one or two couples or a small family,” said SW Florida Yachts Barb Hansen.

“Preamble” is cutter rigged with a full battened mainsail, a 130-per cent genoa and a self-tacking, club-boomed staysail. Both head sails are equipped with appropriately-sized roller furling and all sails can be set, reefed and taken in from the cockpit. The mainsail is equipped with a MackPack, integrated lazyjack/sail cover system.

“The cockpit is large and comfortable with a dodger and awning to provide good protection from the sun,” said Hansen. An aft boarding/swim ladder provides access through the dual back stays from either the water or a dinghy. A fresh water, hot and cold shower is located aft, to port.

The forward cabin has a large v-berth, drawer storage and cedar-lined hanging locker. The head is roomy with a sink, shower and vanity. The main saloon has settees port and starboard with a bulkhead-mounted table that can seat four or more. Aft on starboard is the large, u-shaped galley with refrigerated icebox, a gimbaled, three-burner propane range and double stainless sink. A three-cylinder, 38-horsepower Yanmar provides power at 2,400-RPM to move “Preamble” easily at six-knots.

Summer charter rates for “Preamble” are $2,323 per week, while winter charters are $2,902 weekly. 2017 charter discounts include 10-per cent off during June and July and 15-per cent during August and September. All charters must be three-days or longer and the discount is determined by the charter start date.
