This year I found a new CPA for our tax returns & am working with her to implement suggested improvements, updated QuickBooks 2004 to 2012. In 2013 I’d like to use QuickBooks for our budget process instead of Excel. There is more I want to do!

I’d like to continue working on the programs. I’ve done them for 8 years, I implemented the HRCI pre-approved programs, (100% pre-approved), book a year in advance, get consistent good ratings on topics/speakers, and I just love doing it!

It’s important that I do everything I can to stay current, grow and help other HR professionals to do the same. I’ve worked with the ASHRM ECPN for 3 years as a way to “pay back” what the group did for me to gain my SPHR. I’ve enjoyed it immensely and want to continue in this area.

I served on the Board for two years as Treasurer in 2010 and 2011. This year, I have served as co-treasurer. Next year, I would like to participate more actively on the Board. The Board position which is responsible for handling Awards appeals to me because, after all, as an HR manager, I know how important it is to appropriately recognize those who have contributed “above and beyond” in meaningful ways which, as ASHRM members, benefit all of us.

I strongly believe in Professional Organizations and extended education in one’s field. ASHRM enhances the individual member and it streamlines and defines HR concepts. I want to be a core part of this, giving back to the Chapter and developing long-term relationships.
