Brady Street Announces Special Events for 2011

MILWAUKEE, WI – (February 2011) Save the Dates! The Brady Street Business Improvement District (BID #11) announces four events for 2011.

Spring on Brady, Saturday, June 4th, 11am - 4pm

Merchants on Brady Street welcome Spring by featuring incredible springtime storefront displays of floral designs using fresh flowers, paper, silk, and anything else they can think of.

By partnering up with local non-profits, donations earn event-goers a Brady Buck which can be used for extra deals on the already extravagant sidewalk sales and multitudes of dining and drink specials.

Brady Street Festival, Saturday, July 30th, 11am - 11pm

The Festival features award winning Wisconsin cheese makers along with delicious fare from Brady Street area restaurants. A variety of vendors on hand will be selling art, jewelry, pottery, and other items throughout the day.

Three stages packed full of musical entertainment with an emphasis on local sounds, along with the infamous drag show, are sure to keep the crowds dancing. A rock climbing wall, pro wrestling ring and BMX stunt team round out the fun that can be had by all at the best festival of the year!

Brady Street Pet Parade, Sunday, October 2nd, 11 am – 4 pm

This year, the Business Improvement District teams up with the folks from the Brady Street Area Association to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Annual Brady Street Pet Parade! Feathers and fur take to the streets for this costume contest and pet blessing. Vendors, raffles, canine obedience demonstrations and more await at this ever popular family event.

Festivus, Saturday, December 4th, 9pm – 2am

Visit the Brady Street pubs for a chance to air your grievances and participate in feats of strength, all in an effort to win the coveted Festivus Pole. If you were a Seinfeld fan, you may recall this “fake” holiday celebration. This is definitely the most hilarious of the Brady Street events!

Brady Street encompasses 10 blocks from Lake Michigan to the Milwaukee River and represents Milwaukee’s version of Greenwich Village. Visit the neighborhood For All Walks Of Life!
