APPLICATIONS DUE BY 12:00 P.M. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2017 – COUNSELING OFFICE

AHS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP:Must have attended full senior year at AHS and attend the

alumni reunion first year. Must be a good citizen with good moral character. GPA 2.75 or above. May be deferred

for one year with approval from college attending.

AHS BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP:Participated in school sponsored sports every year during high school

and earned a Varsityletter. GPA 3.0 or higher. Official transcriptneeded.

AHS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP:Graduating senior and a member of National Honor

Society. Based on community service and leadership.May be deferred.

AHSTHESPIAN SCHOLARSHIP:An initiated Thespian who has activelyparticipated in Drama Club and

Thespians for the last two years. Must have a 3.4 (or higher) accumulative GPA, must also have earned a school

letterin theater.

ASHLAND EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP:Eligible applicants must have attended AHS for three

years and be a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Have a parent who is a certified teacher for the

Ashland School District.

ASHLAND FOOD CO-OP CULINARY SCHOLARSHIP:Awarded to students planning to pursue a culinary arts

program at an accredited school.

ASHLAND LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP:Must attend an Oregon public college or university, no private

schools. Need two letters of recommendation and summary of financial aid.May be deferred, with approval from

college attending. Unofficial transcript needed.

ASHLAND ROTARY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS: No minimum GPA, financial need a factor. Essay on

reasons for further education, stating goals and objectives. May be deferred for one year with approval from

college attending.

CARPENTER GRANT: Renewable up to 4 years if a continuous student carrying a minimum of 12 hours.

Evidence of need--FAFSA form must be filled out. Present a prepared plan for future education. Unofficial

transcript needed.

CHAPTER AC P.E.O. TINA WALLIS SCHOLARSHIP:Awarded to a senior girl. Based on academics, activities,

and financial need. Unofficial transcript needed. May not be deferred.

DAVID STEELE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:Graduating senior planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college or

trade school pursuing a public safety degree or certification through career and technical education (CTE).

Examples include:EMS, EMT, Firefighter, and Police Officer.Minimum GPA 3.0. Unofficial transcript needed.

FAIRY GODMOTHER RVMF SCHOLARSHIP:Awarded to FEMALE graduating senior with financial need

planning to attend an accredited Oregon, non-profit, college or university. Application requires official transcript

with SAT/ACT scores, essay, and two letters of recommendation. Award may be renewable for second year.

KIWANIS CLUB OF ASHLAND AHS ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP:Recipient must have lettered in at

least one AHS team sport, a minimum of 200 hours of community service. GPA of 3.00 or better. Requires two

letters of recommendation, transcript, and essay of not more than 300 words about your community service and

how it has prepared you for adulthood.May be deferred.

KIWANIS “KEY CLUBBER OF THE YEAR”SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is awarded to a senior student

who has also been recognized as a “Key Clubber of the Month.”May be deferred.

KIWANIS TOMMY LAIRD SCHOLARSHIP:Only students who have been a “Kiwanis Student of the Month” are

eligible to apply. GPA verified by counseling office. May be deferred.

KIWANIS YOUTH FOUNDATION OF SOUTHERN OREGON SCHOLARSHIP:Available for freshman year at an

accredited college or trade school.GPA must be between 2.0 and 3.0 (verified by thecounseling office). Appli-

cation requires two letters of recommendation and a 200-word statement explaining your goals for the future. May

be deferred (one year) if not attending school during the first year.

LEAH CASTILLO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Awarded to a girl using one or more of the following criteria:

minority student, interest in art or foreign language, community interests.

LITHIA SPRINGS ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP:Awarded to students planning to enroll in a vocational

program at a career school or community college. Financial need is considered.

MIMI SCHOLARSHIP:Recipient will have a "never give up" spirit that is evident in his or her endeavors. No GPA

requirement and grades are not of primary importance. Based on financial need and commitment to help others in

school and the community.

OREGON SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP #42 (OSEA): Parent must be a member of

OSEA classified staff (non-teaching staff).Requires GPA of 2.5 or above. Write an essay on reasons for

furthering education.

SOROPTIMIST VICKI SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:Senior FEMALE with a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Application requires a goal statement and two recommendation letters. Official transcript. May be deferred.

SOROPTIMIST VO-TECH SCHOLARSHIP:Soroptimist International of Ashland seeks to help a vocationally

bound 2016 graduating female student with a $500 scholarship that will help enable her to pursue her career

goals. The student will be selected by the High School’s scholarship committee based on need and anticipated

success.
