KENTCOUNTY FAIR 4-H OVERNIGHT PASS APPROVAL
For Kent 4-H Animal Exhibitors
1.4-H youth exhibitors that remain on the Fairgrounds overnight must have on file in the Extension Office, a current: 1. Behavioral Expectation Form, 2. 4-H Health Statement and 3. MD 4-H Code of Animal Science Ethics Form and 4. OvernightPass Approval Form. These forms must be filled out, signed by the 4-H member and parent or guardian and returned to the Extension Office by June 15, 2013.
2.Each barn area will have approved chaperones, who will remain in the barn or designated area all night. Chaperones MUST remain all night or have a replacement relieve them. All Chaperones will be UME trained and have completed a Fair Chaperone Job Description if they are responsible for a 4-H’er other than their own child(ren).
3.There will be no more than 10 exhibitors per chaperone.
4.Youth 18 years and under, without animal project responsibilities, may stay on the grounds overnight if their parents are designated Chaperones on the fairgrounds, (i.e.: They have no one to go home to.) Behavioral Expectation, Health Statement and OvernightPass forms must be signed for that child.
5.It is a privilege and a responsibility for 4-H’ers to stay overnight at the fair. The 4-H’er agrees to follow the 4-H Behavioral Expectations, all Fair rules & guidelines and follow directions given by designated chaperone, 4-H staff and Fair Board members. 4-H’er also agrees to attend overnight orientation session as directed by Extension Staff to make sure paper work is in order, review guidelines and handout wristbands. Anyone not attending an orientation, will not be able to stay overnight on the fairgrounds.
6.4-H’er agrees to wear a Kent County Fairovernight wristband indicating approval for overnight stay.
7.During the Fair, this form must be completed with chaperone signatures and returned to fair office by 9:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Anyone not having form in by 9:00 p.m. (or a time determined at the fair by Extension personnel), will not be permitted to stay on the fair grounds. NO EXCEPTIONS!
8. 4-H’ers and Chaperone/Parents must be in the same designated area for overnight stay – either a barn, camper, or tent. Chaperones can not sign for 4-H’ers who will not be in their area overnight.
