ADDISON/STANDARD BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN CORRIDOR FROM BUCKEYE TO HOLLAND

  • Concrete work is complete. Striping will be complete in spring, 2016. Work is onLincoln and Standard heading north to Magnesium. This work will be for sidewalk and driveway installation.

This project will complete a major bicycle and pedestrian corridor. It will add new bike lanes and sidewalks along the entire corridor and make improvements to existing bike lanes.

This project is being funded with Federal funds

Every Holiday season River Park Square closes one westbound lane and provides flagging operation to allow vehicles to leave the parking garage just west of Post Street. Below find this year’s schedule:

  • 2nd HARVEST TOM’S TURKEY DRIVE, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, SPOKANE ARENA

No street closures are scheduled. Drivers are asked to be cautious as there will be heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

  • TURKETY TROT, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26, MANITO PARK, 9 A.M.

Race begins at the Manito Park Duck Pond. There is not an entry fee for this run. Donations of food and/or cash will gladly be accepted and go to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Drivers are asked to slow down and to be aware of runners along the route. Runners will be along the south side of Manito Park and Manito Boulevard from 21st Avenue to 25th Avenue.

FRANCIS AVENUE – DIVISION TO EAST CITY LIMITS COMMUNICATION PROJECT

  • This project calls for installation of Variable Message Signs, Closed Circuit TV systems, fiber optic cables, and other related miscellaneous items. Motorist will see intermittent lane closures for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November.Camera installation remains.

This $650,000 project is being funded with Federal and Local funds

GARDEN PARK BOOSTER STATION REHABILITATION AT 2403 EAST 37THIS SUSPENDED

  • Garden Park is suspended due to a pump alignment issue. Once the issue is resolved, the existing station will go through a demo process.

This project is to rehabilitate the existing booster station with a new building, pumps, and motors. This work is for installation of a new transmission main and connection to the new Booster Station.

The $500,000 project is being funded by City funds

HARTSON AVENUE FROM ALTAMONT STREET TO FISKE STREET

  • This project will continue in spring 2016.

This project includes full depth roadway section of traveled way, fill sidewalk gaps, replace curbing where needed and install ADA curb ramps. The project will also include replacement of water lines.

The $830,000 project is being funded with City Wastewater and Water funds

HAVANA STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM GLENROSE ROAD TO 37TH AVENUE

  • This project will continue in spring, 2016. It is anticipated that punchlist items and the permeable bike lane for this project will winter over with a completion date of spring 2016.

Improvements include full width pavement replacement, complete sidewalk gaps and pilot project porous asphalt bicycle lanes. This project will also include installation of a 36 inch water transmission main between 37th Avenue and the Brown Park reservoirs at 57th Avenue.

The $3.7 million project is funded with Local and State DWSRF funds

HIGH DRIVE & HATCH ROAD (CSO 20/24)

  • 43rd Avenue from Scott to Garfield Street is closed.

This project will construct a storage facility for CSO Basin 20, with connecting piping, interceptor inlet vault, flush systems, regulator and controls at 43rd Avenue and Garfield Street. This work is part of the Combined Sewer Overflow program for a Cleaner River Faster Integrated Approach to Street Repair.

This project is funded with Wastewater funds, Federal and Local funds

LARRY H MILLER

  • Madison Street from 3rd Avenue to Freeway Avenue North is closed.

The redevelopment of the area for the Larry H Miller project will create an “Auto District” with streetscape amenities. This project is in general bounded by Monroe Street on the east, Adams Street on the west, 2nd to the North, and Freeway Avenue to the South.

LEAF PICK UP SCHEDULE IS SUSPENEDED UNTIL THE WIND STORM TREE DEBRIS IS CLEARED FROM STREETS

  • City of Spokane Street Maintenance crews have begun regularly scheduled leaf pickup. In the event of snow, leaf pick up will stop and then continue when weather allows. Cars will need to be moved off the street during the scheduled leaf pickup time to ensure neighborhoods are cleared of as many leaves as possible.

Pickup times for various locations and neighborhoods can be found atSpokaneCity.org.In addition, people can call theLeaf Hotline(509.625.7737) for information on the next day’s work areas.

Thethree different types of leaf pickup crewsmay operate during the following hours:

Loadal Crews Daylight to dusk

Packer Crews 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Hand Pick Crews 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Pusher Crews will be working in the Audubon area bounded by South of Garland to North of NW Boulevard and in the area west of Monroe to east of NW Boulevard

Clam Shell Loader Crews will be starting in the Driscoll area bounded by south of Wellesley to north of Garland and in the area west of Belt to east of NW Boulevard

Hand Pick Crews will be starting in the Woodridge area bounded by south of the city limits to north of Barnes Road and in the area west of Wieber Drive to east of Comanche

PLEASE NOTE: Cars need to be removed from the road between. Beginning November 22, Leaf crews will work 7 days a week. During this 7 day schedule, cars are asked to be off the street from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

MONROE/LINCOLN STREET COUPLET, 4TH AVENUE TO 2ND AVENUE

  • Lincoln/Monroe is open to traffic with intermittent lane restrictions for finishing punchlist items.

The work on the 5th Avenue water main installation has been delayed to spring 2016 due to complications.

The project includes reconstruction of the street from 2nd to 4th Avenues and will replace the asphalt surfacing, including ADA ramps as needed.

The $4.52 million project is being funded by the 10-Year Street Bond, Capital Programs, Storm Water Improvements, and Water Department

NON CITY OBSTRUCTION CLOSURES

  • Divcon will have the sidewalk on Hamilton and the sidewalk and parking lane closed on Desmet, Columbus, and Cataldo from 9/15/15 until 6/3/16 for construction on site.
  • 10/19-11/24 – One lane and sidewalk will be closed on the north side of 2nd Ave between Spokane St and Cowley
  • Northeast Homes will be closing Bridgeport between Thor and Ralph from 11/16 to 11/23 for new water and sewer connections and a driveway approach.
  • Potelco will be replacing lamp posts at various locations around the city from now until December 18th. Closures should be minimal.
  • M & L Construction will be closing all lanes to include parking lanes and sidewalk on the south side of Main between Washington and Stevens from 11/16 to 11/20 for water taps.
  • M JM Grand will be closing all of Boone between Cochran to Nettleton from 11/18 to 11/20 for work to a fuel line.
  • Lance Pounder Excavation will be closing 100% of Adams St. near the intersection of Adams and 2nd from 11/23 to 12/2 for new water taps (City Project #2015-137).

NORTHWEST BOULEVARD AND COLUMBIA CIRCLE (CSO 6) WILL OPEN ONCE THE DOWNED TREE IS REMOVED

  • Paving is complete on Northwest Boulevard.

The project includes the installation of a 900,000 gallon tank.New water mains will be added at H Street, Glass Avenue and Columbia Circle these lines will be connected to the new main along Columbia Circle. Columbia Circle, H Street and Glass Avenue will be repaved and sidewalk repairs will happen in select areas. Many driveways will be replaced to match the new street grade.

The 9.5 million project is being paid for by the Water – Wastewater Integrated Capital Fund

POTHOLE CREWS

  • Crews focus on the largest potholes on the busiest streets throughout the City first. Please report potholes by calling 625-7733. Include as much information as possible on the location and size of the pothole.

RAY/THOR STREET FROM 29TH AVENUE TO 17th AVENUE

  • Ray Street is open to traffic.

Improvements include the use of preservation treatments that include crack sealing, grind and overlay and pavement rejuvenation techniques. Pedestrian improvements include upgrades to ADA curb ramps and minor curb and sidewalk repairs.

The $687,000 project is funded by the Federal Surface Transportation Program

ROWAN AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS FROM DRISCOLL BOULEVARD TO ALBERTA STREET

  • The portion of this project from Driscoll Boulevard to Fotheringham will be completed in spring of 2016. Rowan will reopen for traffic in early November.

A separate project will be bid and completed next year from Alberta to Monroe and will include full depth street reconstruction along with upgrades for ADA, bike lanes and utility upgrades as required.

This project is for reconstruction work from Driscoll Blvd. to Monroe Street. The project also includes installation of bike lanes, filling sidewalk gaps and replacing water lines.

The $2.7 million project is a City funded project.

Sprague (eAST) Avenue (CSO 33-2) Facility

This project will construct a combined sewer overflow facility on City property across from the City’s Sewer Maintenance Facility. Work is scheduled to complete tentatively at the end of November weather permitting.

The $3.7 million project is being paid for by the Water-Wastewater Integrated Capital Fund.

STREET MAINTENANCE ARTERIAL CRACK SEALING

  • Arterial crack sealing work is complete. Crews are now transitioning over to leaf pick up crews

STREET MAINTENANCE GRIND AND OVERLAY WORK IS COMPLETE FOR 2015

  • Work is complete for the year.

STREET MAINTENANCE RESIDENTIAL CRACK SEALING IS COMPLETE

  • Work is complete.

STREET MAINTENANCE STREET GRADING

  • Crews are grading dirt roads citywide

SWEEPING CREWS

  • Crews are working on arterial routes. Residential routes are complete.

UNION BASIN STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS AT TRENT AND REGAL

This project will construct stormwater treatment installation and disposal facilities such as swales in various locations throughout the project.

Work continues on Springfield from Trent to Napa.

This $1.1 million project is funded by State and local funds.

UTILITY CREWS

  • Work is on-going throughout the city for sewer and water repairs

WALL STREET CSO PROJECT

  • Spokane Falls Boulevard hasbeen paved and will open later this evening. The pedestrian crosswalk will be open by the weekend.

This work is part of the Wall Street Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) project and will include the installation of a manhole, catch basins, and a clean water drain.

Wall Street from Main Street to Spokane Falls Boulevard remains closed. Vehicle access and on street parking will not be available. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Work on Wall Street between Spokane Falls Boulevard and the Main Street intersection includes installation of a CSO sewer main and clean water main.

This project is part of the Cleaner River Faster Project improving the overall quality of our river.

Please note: The businesses along Wall Street and Main Avenue, including Macy’s and Runners Soul, remain open during this construction work.

  • URBAN OUTFITTERS DEVELOPMENT WORK IN WALL STREET

Walker Construction has set up construction fencing around 702 W Main. The fencing is scheduled to be up until demolition and construction of Urban Outfitters is complete in late June of 2016
