VACANCY NOTICE

TITLE: Teacher of the Blind and Partially Sighted (Visually Impaired)

Full-Time, 10-Month Position Certified Position

Exceptional Education Department Affiliation: Teachers’ Association

Location: Smith School and / or Component Districts (Itinerant)

DUTIES: *Provide instruction to students with visual impairments throughout the TST BOCES region.

*Itinerant position working with students in general education environments, self-contained

special education classrooms, and individual settings.

*Maintain pupils' records consistent with State and Federal regulations.

*Perform other related duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess appropriate New York State Teacher Certification as Teacher of the Blind

and Partially Sighted OR Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired. Orientation and

Mobility training is required.

START DATE: Immediately – as soon as possible.

SALARY: $44,500.00 (2017-2018 full-time teacher base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Graduate Credits. Excellent benefits are available.
