Football Development Tour to Spain Easter 2018

June 2017

Dear Parent/Guardian

FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT TOUR TO SPAIN – EASTER 2018

I am sure you are aware of the importance the College places on offering our students access to high quality sport to not only engage them actively, but to broaden their cultural and social horizons. Our footballing success this year at Penryn has highlighted this; both on the field with the progress each team made, but also the impact off the field for each individual and their personal development. We are keen to help grow this by offering our young footballers the opportunity to train with the expert professional youth coaches from Villarreal Club de Futbol.

Without obligation, we have reserved space for 40 pupils for a 5 day tour departing in Easter 2018.

We are expecting a high level of interest in the trip therefore we have invited a representative from the tour company to give a presentation on the programme and be on hand to answer any questions. The

no-obligation presentation will be held in Kernewek Hall at the school on Friday 7th July. The presentation will start promptly at 17:00 so please look to arrive in good time. We anticipate the presentation and questions will take around 45-60 minutes.

PLAYER & PARENT MEETING #1
WHEN: Friday 7th July

TIME: 17:00-18:00

VENUE: Kernewek Hall

We will be able to give a total cost and exact dates at the Parents meeting. Previously the trip has cost in the region of £775. While we appreciate this is a large amount, we feel it represents excellent value for the experience and quality of the trip. Those signing up are able to pay in instalments throughout the year.

We run our Football tour on a two-year cycle, and last visited Villarreal in 2012. It was truly fantastic experience, and an amazing environment to play football. The hotel (Hotel Intur Orange) was a great base, close to the beach and the just outside the vibrant town of Benicassim. We are excited to be going back to somewhere which served us so well, and to a Spanish club who will next year be competing in Europe again.

Inspiresport are the official partner of the English Schools Football Association and are running these programmes in partnership with the top clubs and sports governing bodies. Young football enthusiasts of all ages, gender and abilities are able to participate in the trip and benefit not only from the specialist professional coaching, but also the other educational and cultural benefits Villarreal has to offer.

I also want to stress this is a trip for ALL players who enjoy football. It is not about teams competing in a tournament, or an opportunity for elite players. It is for ALL players who enjoy football and want to experience playing in such an amazing environment.

Should you wish your son or daughter to be included please complete and return the slip below.

Kind regards

Mr. J. Ash
