This article provides an analysis of basic physical and mechanical properties of liquid products: the fluidity, viscosity, bulk density, surface tension in liquids, gases content, foaming ability. These properties significantly affect the accuracy of dosing and filling time, as well as the quality of packaging.

It is shown that use packaging fresh fruits and vegetables with modified atmosphere with less oxygen inhibits growth of microorganisms and extend shelf life of products.

Packaging of soft drinks in PET bottles with the domestic equipment

Much of the soft drinks packed in PET-bottles. The use of PET-bottles requires some changes in packaging technology and design of packaging machinery. The authors present characteristics of the packaging technologies of various kinds of beverages in PET-bottles, technical level of equipment of Ukrainian producers. It is noted that the Ukrainian market of packaging for soft drinks in PET-bottles with low and medium productivity filled to 95% of samples of domestic engineering. Last years the tendency to unite the efforts of several companies for complex questions regarding packing beverages in PET-bottles.
Air flow through the material and leaks in packaging machines

The authors have developed an algorithm for controlling impermeability cavities of various products and materials. The analysis of the values of the size of the defects and the duration of the expiration of air from the cavity of the simulation and experiment. The authors also conducted experiments for pneumatic vacuum that are used at an operating pressure of the order of 400-600 kPa. Method of calculating the leakage can be applied in the design of new packaging materials and forms of packaging products that require security seal with predetermined properties.
Magnetic catchingdevices in packaging equipment

In the manufacture of packaging, or their parts made of ferromagnetic materials to effectively apply magnetic catchingdevice. Such devices can be made on the basis of a permanent magnet and electromagnet. It is shown an analysis of structural diagrams of magnetic and electromagnetic catching devices, determine their strengths and weaknesses. The authors proposed a new original design of an electromagnetic catchingdevice for carrying and filling the cans.

Systematization of technologes for theproduction of printed products

The authors analyze the state of various technologies printing on enterprises in Ukraine. It is shown the status and trends of installation sheet and roll offset machines in Ukraine during 2006-2011. The authors made an analysis of the market of paints for different types of printing. It is shown that trends in the Ukrainian printing market coincide with the world. At the same time it is influenced by economic and cultural features of the Ukrainian market.
How much is recycled packaging waste?

In this article we consider the situation in Ukraine with payments for the utilization of solid waste and packaging waste. It is shown the generalized scheme of all different kinds of payments. The authors examined in detail payments for removal of solid waste through the utility bills, for the utilization of used packaging. It is shown that the population of Ukraine is paying for the same services three times. The article demonstrated the ineffectiveness of the system of waste management of used packaging in Ukraine.

The alternative method to determine a paper bursting strength

The author has considered an alternative to the standard method for determining the bursting strength of paper. The method is based supposed fact that the first test sample of paper made a flat circular membrane, and after the load evenly distributed pressure, it forms a dent in the form of a sphere. The article shows that this deviation from the values of the bursting strength of paper in comparison with standard methods is 1 %.
