Club Description
18 hole golf course, driving range, outdoor tennis courts and swimming pool. Members Grille with seating for 48, Trouble Room with dining for 24, 2 outside decks, formal member dining room and banquet room. Food & Beverage is open 6 days a week in season (closed F&B on Mondays if no golf outings) and 5 days a week off-season (closed Monday and Tuesdays). 325 golf members, 125+ social members, seeking to increase membership. Managed and owned by Acumen Golf, who owns, operates and manages clubs in the Richmond market.
Brief Job Description
Responsible for all food and beverage production and service for the club. Directly supervises the Executive Chef, the food and beverage personnel, and general supervision of all the department heads. Will be responsible for the overall supervision of the club and employees while working closely under the guidance of Acumen Golf. Will be responsible for member billing and billing related enquiries and daily club paperwork.
Duties
Develops with the department heads the operating budgets for each department under the guidance of Acumen Golf. Monitors and takes corrective actions as necessary to assure that the budgeted revenue and expense goals are attained. Assures effective orientation and training of new staff along with existing employees. Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, preventative and clubhouse maintenance is met. Assures that all standard operating procedures for sales and cost controls are in place and consistently utilized. Helps plan external and internal marketing and sales promotional activities for the F&B operation and club in general. Establishes quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the departments. Ensures that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to, including wage and hour and federal, state and local laws pertaining to Virginia ABC liquor control. Ensures that documentation of all personnel records is accurate, and implements the clubs policies and procedures under the guidance of Acumen Golf. Greets members, guests and contracted events to the club ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Personally handles selected member and guest complaints and advises Acumen Golf about appropriate corrective actions taken. Maintains responsibility for sales, expenses and profit goals as outlined in the operating budgets. Willingness to work hard to achieve the above duties.
Candidate Qualifications
Experienced in country club or golf club operations or similar restaurant position. Proven to have exceptional people skills, including training and customer service. Experienced in establishing and maintaining budgets, accounting procedures, and have a good understanding of the daily operations of a member owned equity club (will not have to attend any board meetings!). Able to provide exceptional references.
