JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Overview / Management of the full Recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities / Key responsibilities (to include but not limited to);
Recruitment (General)
  • Partnering with hiring managers to agree hiring plans (including agreement of job descriptions, candidate profiles, salary ranges)
  • Following EXCO process to obtain approval to hire
  • Leading agency briefings and/or briefings with in-house Talent Sourcer
  • Screening CVs
  • Working with Recruitment Associate to arrange interview schedules and any travel/logistical arrangements
  • Conducting HR interviews and interviewing with hiring managers where necessary
  • Collating interview feedback
  • Partnering with Reward team to analyse preferred candidate’s historic compensation and benefits
  • Partnering with Reward team to advise hiring managers on package to be offered
  • Following EXCO process to obtain approval of package to be offered
  • Extending verbal offers as required
  • Drafting employment contracts
  • Partnering with Generalist and HR Operations teams to initiate onboarding processes
  • Hosting new starter onboarding breakfasts
  • Assisting Head of Recruitment with graduate recruitment programmes (AIM, YIP)
Recruitment (Agency and Search)
  • Working with Head of Recruitment, Africa on search assignments
  • Maintaining strong relationships with preferred suppliers (agencies and search)
  • Negotiating rates and SLA terms
  • Monitoring supplier performance and ensure ongoing compliance with SLA terms
  • Identifying new potential suppliers (especially black owned firms)
Projects
  • Leading recruitment related projects where appropriate
  • Assisting in wider HR projects as required

Mandatory responsibilities:
  • Adhering to the Code of Ethics and related policies, including personal account dealing, gifts, inside information, etc.
  • Ensuring Compliance forms and declarations are completed and returned on a timely basis
  • Ensuring timely completion of Compliance training
  • Ensuring that you maintain appropriate level of training and threshold competence levels
  • Ensuring you keep up to date on procedures and best practice relevant to your job responsibilities
  • Ensuring regulatory, client and other corporate records are maintained

  • Ensuring that all changes in business practice are taken through the appropriate business forums
  • Ensuring that regulatory, client and other corporate reporting deadlines are met
  • Ensuring that if handling client monies and client assets that they are properly protected, recorded and reconciled
  • Maintaining “chinese walls” / “ethical walls” with other parts of the Investec Group and within IAM under the inside information requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Degree educated is essential
  • Minimum 5 years of recruiting experience, which includes in-house experience
  • Strong financial services or professional services experience; knowledge of asset management would be an advantage
  • Experience of managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects and client relationships in a highly competitive environment
  • Demonstrated experience executing recruiting strategy, including employer brand promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing and interview process management
  • Ability to continually seek new sourcing options, develop creative approaches to sourcing and delivering candidates
  • Global recruitment experience advantageous
  • Commercially aware
  • Experience of working with Graduate programmes
Systems Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • ATS experience with sourcing, tracking and managing candidates
  • LinkedIn research skills advantageous
  • Reporting Analytics experience is essential
