Florida Coastal School of Law Student Ambassador Program

Spring 2011

The Student Ambassadors at Florida Coastal are students who exhibit a high level of professionalism and a desire to serve their community. The purpose of this organization is to provide service to students, faculty, and guests of Florida Coastal School of Law. This service includes assisting at official school events, providing guided school tours, and acting as a liaison to the public at large. Official school events may include new student orientation, commencement, and other special events.

We are currently looking for new Ambassadors to assist with the events that will take place throughout the semester. Interested applicants should complete the Ambassador application and return the application, along with a current resume, to Virginia “Aline” Baker ().

Applicants selected to continue to the tryout and interview stage will be required to complete a two-step process. Applicants will give a brief (10 minute) tour of one floor of the school with one of the current Ambassadors. Applicants are not expected to give a perfect tour of the floor. The purpose of this aspect of the tryout is to observe the applicant’s communications skills and the ease with which the applicant can integrate information from their own experience at FCSL with the information normally given during a building tour. Following the tour tryout, applicants will meet with current Ambassadors in a “meet & greet” session. During this time, the applicant will have the opportunity to speak with current Ambassadors and the Ambassadors will be able to learn more about each applicant before making the decision as to who should be offered a position on the Ambassadors roster. Dress for these events is courtroom attire.

All applicants must be prepared to meet the following Ambassador requirements if selected for an open position:

-Maintain a 2.0 GPA

-Must be a student in good standing

-Complete a minimum of 5 events each semester (can include weekly tours, orientation, commencement, Jacksonville Bar Assoc. events, etc.)

-Must have at least one full semester remaining after Spring 2011

Times will be assigned upon review of application & resume

Meet & Greets to be held at:
