Education Director

Position Description

Description:

The Education Director holds a 3-year term and Chairs the Education Committee. This position is responsible for the education needs of the Society and to continuously strive to successfully meet the established criteria for the Education Achievement Award.

Qualifications:

FLMI Designation; Society member; Leadership, communication and organizational skills; Basic understanding of the functions of the Society

Responsibilities:

  • Attend membership and Board meetings, provide updates on the Education Committee, determined goals, and Award Criteria
  • Administrate the Society’s Mentoring Program and maintain the Access database of partnerships.
  • Schedule and hold Education Committee meetings every other month.
  • Maintain, update, and distribute Company and Education Representative’s information to the Society and Board.
  • Purchase and distribute gift certificates to Education Representatives at the Recognition Dinner.
  • Submit proposal budget figures for Education Committee with assumptions and support documentation.
  • Assist Board in analyzing and finalizing annual budget.
  • Provide education information to Communication/Public Relations Chairperson as needed for Society newsletter.
  • Provide direction and guidance to Education Committee
  • Provide assistance and input to Board when needed.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives for Education Committee.
  • Maintain and update Proctor listings for paper exams.
  • Provide all necessary information and documentation to Society Representative to complete the Annual Report for LOMA.
  • Build and maintain relationships and communicate with Education Representatives in a professional manner.

Timeline of Activities:

  • January: attend Board meeting to review plans for the upcoming year
  • February: attend Board meeting to finalize budget if necessary
  • March: schedule and hold Education Committee meeting and attend Spring Breakfast meeting
  • May: attend Board and Spring Dinner meeting
  • June: schedule and hold Education Committee meeting
  • July: attend Board Planning Retreat
  • August: schedule and hold Education Committee meeting and attend bi-annual Board Planning Retreat
  • September: attend Board and Wine and Cheese meeting
  • October: attend annual seminar, schedule and hold Education Committee meeting
  • November: attend Board and Recognition Dinner, purchase gift certificates for Education Representatives
  • December: attend Board meeting for outgoing Board members, schedule and hold Education Committee meeting
