Separate your waste and win!

Congratulations. Together with 99 others all of your block* participates in Operation Recycling – the City of Frederiksberg’s great competition on waste separation.

During this year your waste will be studied three times; if your are among the three blocks that are best at separating you will win great prizes in November.

By then we will award the three blocks that have improved most, separated best, or developed the best idea of how to make more people separate. The prize awarded to the three expert housing associations is a gift voucher of DKK 5,000 for a garden centre - with this money you can brush up your yard.

Good luck with your separation efforts. May the best block win.

Residual waste is the least desirable choice

We will take a look in your residual waste containers and count the number of materials that could have been placed in one of the containers for recycling. We pep up one of your residual waste containers. This is to remind you that residual waste is the least desirable choice when there is no more to separate for recycling. We enclose a guideline that informs you about separation. All you should do is separate all you can.

9 of 10 already separate for recycling
Nine of ten already separate for recycling to some extent, but we still see around 25% of the recyclable waste ending up in the residual waste bin and thereby in the flames at the incineration plant. With Operation Recycling we wish to put even more focus on separation. We will gather all the experience gained in Operation Recycling so other housing associations can get inspiration for how to improve the separation efforts in the blocks.

Want to know more?

You can follow the project on (Danish only), see who else is participating and follow the overall results and experience from the operation.

If you already separate enthusiastically, please keep up this fine work and tell others how you go about it in order that separation of waste becomes a natural part of your everyday life. We would be very pleased to receive your tips and advice at
.

Yours faithfully

Container for small electronic items

As part of the campaign of Operation Recycling you now have a container for small electronics. This is a trial that will continue throughout 2014.

The container will be located next to the other recycling containers or where you normally dispose of your bulky waste items. You can ask the person responsible for waste in the block if you cannot find the container.

Generally, you can drop all types of electronics in the container as long as it fits in; but please do not use it for television sets and computer screens. Screens may break during collection and they should therefore be disposed of as bulky waste as hitherto. In the enclosed guideline you can see what goes in the container for small electronics.

If the electronics container is full you must drop the rest of your electronics as bulky waste or at the recycling centre - no matter how small they are.

Yours faithfully
