Fishing Tournament News

Our Fishing Tournament is just a few days away and we are asking all committee chairpersons to attend our Social Ministry meeting on October 14th. Pick up your Apple Dumplings, join us for our Bread of Life Dinner and stay for our meeting at 6:00 p.m. We hope to be prompt with our starting time and will meet in the church library. We’ll answer any last minute requests and aim to have a smooth running day. Hopefully the weather will be suitable so we can set up outside on the parking lot. We would like to borrow a few canopies to set up outside. Notify Connie Lahr, Esther Bartholomew or call church office if you have one available. We could also use help in all areas, whether you can help an hour or two or stay all day we CAN find a spot for you.

Our fish net in the church sanctuary has more than 100 fish “caught” but we have room for more. See us after each service to purchase yours. We’ve almost “got one goat”. Should we try for two? Let’s all pitch in to make it a banner day.

Confirmation Celebration

On Reformation Sunday (October 31st), there will be a light luncheon in the Fellowship Hall to honor this year’s confirmands. The luncheon will be held following the 10:15 service. The Education/Evangelism Committee hopes you can attend to congratulate these young people. Please call the church office (473-3770) to make your reservations. The last day for reservations is October 22nd.

Come and celebrate the dedication of our historic rebuilt pipe organ.

A recital to dedicate the Moeller Pipe Organ to the Glory of God will be presented on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 4 p.m. This recital features Dr. Susan Hegberg, Professor Emeritus of Music, Susquehanna University.

The recital is free, open to the public and a reception will follow with

light refreshments.

Something breakable

The Matter of Conscience - A Sunday School teacher asked her class, “What happens when someone’s conscience bothers them?” A boy spoke up and said, “It makes you tell your mother what you did before your sister tells on you.”
