JOB TITLE: Lead Employment Development Coordinator

SITE: Colindale (Base) – the post holder will work across the Colindale, Ponders End & Watford Centres

REPORTS TO: Development Manager

LINE MANAGEMENT: Trainee Employer Engagement Advisor

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

·  To develop and manage apprenticeship levy employer accounts to achieve income and recruitment targets.

·  Develop new business with employers by supporting them to assess their training needs and the benefit of having apprentices/traineeships within their workforce.

·  To initiate, monitor and manage relationships with a range of employers and stakeholders, ensuring commercial viability for First Rung and high levels of customer satisfaction.

·  Achieve highly stretching apprenticeship income targets

·  To secure supportive and genuine work placements, apprenticeship and standalone employment opportunities for learners in line with specific project timely achievement and sustainability targets.

·  To work closely with employers to identify the training needs of their employees in accordance with the company’s current and future business goals through First Rung’s Apprenticeship programme and all future employment support projects.

·  To support the Development Manager in the implementation of the business Employer Engagement and Marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  To engage with employers via face to face marketing, the telephone and internet and other media sources to generate a bank of work placement and employment vacancies to ensure programme starts profile is met.

2.  Support learners with all aspects of interview preparation – assisting in the production of CVs tailored to specific vocational areas, conducting one-to one interview techniques coaching, assisting with research on prospective employers and planning journeys to interviews.

3.  Use thorough product knowledge to inform employers and employees of the benefits of apprenticeships and apprentice recruitment to their business and recruit employed status apprentices to ensure programme starts profile is met.

4.  Ensure all employed status apprentices meet eligibility requirement and ensure accurate completion of all starts paperwork required by consortium leads and funding agencies.

5.  Ensure all relevant programme paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner inline with funding guidelines and internal protocols.

6.  Complete thorough learner and employer requirements analysis to ensure the best possible conversation and sustainability rates.

7.  To meet targets and KPI’s and where possible exceed those targets across assigned programmes.

8.  To report to the Development Manager each week numbers of companies contacted and the leads generated.

9.  To work with the Development Manager to research and utilise LMI data and target potential sectors for growth.

10.  Work with employers to deliver suitable training packages including full cost recovery where appropriate.

11.  To ensure product knowledge of all training programmes is up to date

12.  Maintain constant communication with Centre Managers and Programme Manager to ensure smooth transition from securing employment to start on programme

13.  Maintain employer database to ensure accurate reporting of apprenticeship employment and starts pipeline

14.  Ensure employers meet all appropriate health and safety requirements and complete a health and safety risk assessment for each employer.

15.  Ensure to ensure new and existing employers are aware of employee recruitment , traineeship, apprenticeship and work placement services provided by First Rung and opportunities to place learners in both are maximised.

16.  Complete regular reporting activities to measure self and team against agreed targets

17.  Support welfare visits in the absence of/or to support Employment Support Advisor as required.

20.  Effective marketing to employers and promotion of marketing to employers

21.  Working to QIP targets alongside Quality Cycle incorporating Single Equality Scheme, Safeguarding, Every Child Matters, Staff Surveys and Staff Training Plan

22.  Working to external targets incorporating – Health and Safety, Matrix, IIP and OfSTED actions.

23.  To treat details of employers and learners as confidential information and to share such information only with those who need to know it.

24.  To ensure compliance of the Data Protection act is followed

25.  Become familiar with, and put into practice, First Rung’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures.

26.  Become familiar with, and put into practice, First Rung’s Comprehensive Equal Opportunity Policy and procedures.

27.  Fulfil the role of First Aider when required.

28.  Play an active role in all First Rung’s marketing and promotional image including PR materials and attend marketing events.
