Organizational Aid Appropriations for the Rich Pond Baptist Church University Ministry, Western Kentucky University Indian Student Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Psi, Western Kentucky University Sky Diving Club, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Western Kentucky University Art Guild, and Association of Undergraduate Geneticists.

PURPOSE: For the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University to allocate $4,253.00 from the Organization Aid fund to the Rich Pond Baptist Church University Ministry, Western Kentucky University Indian Student Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Psi, Western Kentucky University Sky Diving Club, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Western Kentucky University Art Guild, and Association of Undergraduate Geneticists.

WHEREAS: Organizational Aid is a beneficial service to the Student Organizations of Western Kentucky University, and

WHEREAS: The allocated funds will support specific student events on Western Kentucky University’s main and regional campuses, and

WHEREAS: The Rich Pond Baptist Church University Ministry has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in showing the documentary Collision, a documentary concerning the conversations of renowned atheist Christopher Hitchens and Douglas Wilson, an evangelical theologian and pastor, the requested funds will be used to subsidize costs associated with showing the film , and

WHEREAS: The Western Kentucky University Indian Student Association has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in procuring a venue for the annual Indian Night event in November and in procuring a cricket set to represent Western Kentucky University in regional university cricket tournaments, and

WHEREAS: The Western Kentucky University Honors Club has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in sponsoring the Honors Formal and Honors End of the Year Party, and

WHEREAS: The Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated has been recommended an appropriation of $500.00 for succor in procuring a venue and materials associated with their 40th Anniversary Closing Ceremony Banquet that will recognize contributions from current students and alumni to Western Kentucky University , and

WHEREAS: The Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity has been recommended an appropriation of $500.00 for succor in procuring materials and speakers associated with a series of workshops, open to the public, geared toward improving interviewing skills, professionalism, and improving student resumes, and

WHEREAS: The Western Kentucky University Skydiving has been recommended an appropriation of $500.00 for succor in offsetting the cost of jump training for first time jumpers and to purchase helmets and gloves to offset the cost of equipment rental, and

WHEREAS: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in materials associated with the annual Junior Achievement Mini Corvette Challenge, a charity go-kart race where event proceeds support Junior Achievement programs across South Central Kentucky , and

WHEREAS: The Western Kentucky University Art Guild has been recommended an appropriation of $300.00 for succor in purchasing materials associated with an art show that will occur in late November, and

WHEREAS: The Association of Undergraduate Geneticists has been recommended an appropriation of $453.00 for succor in procuring refreshments for student attendees and guest lecturers of their annual lecture series.

THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University allocate the needed funds of $4,253.00 to Western Kentucky University student organizations.
