Course Description:

Principles and practices of business finance with an emphasis on problem areas such as capital budgeting, profit determination and distribution, expansion, reorganization and liquidation and the use of funds

Welcome to the Business World, Post-Enron

There will be no cheating of any kind.

Any student found cheating will receive the letter grade F for the class.

Any student allowing another to copy will receive the letter grade F for the class.

This includes homework as well as tests.

Attendance:

Students are expected to attend all classes. If a student must miss a class for any reason they should contact me before class and leave a message. Students will lose one letter grade for every class missed after two weeks worth of absences. Students who fail to attend two weeks of classes without calling will be dropped from the class. Students are responsible for all assignments. Students are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire class.

Grading:

Your grade is a numeric average of test scores and assignments. I will not take away any points for poor attendance, lateness or limited class participation. However, I will not add any points or fractions either. If a student attends and participates I have the option of adding points to their final grade.

90 and above =A

80-89 =B

70-79 =C

Below 70 =F

So, if you have a 79.9, you have a C. (Students who attend classes regularly and participate with homework assignments will benefit from rounding to the next higher number. Students who do not attend class regularly and participate with homework assignments will receive the exact numerical average earned through test scores and assignments.)

Students who are registered with the Center on Disability must inform the instructor by the end of the first week if special accommodations are requested.
