You are expected to attend the whole of the session to which you have been assigned.

Marking criteria for presentations can be found at (in the “Writing & Assessment” handbook). At that link you will find additional information and guidance on making a presentation.

You are strongly advised to discuss your presentation plans with your supervisor in advance. However, because this session is assessed, your supervisor will not watch a rehearsal or walk through your presentation with you.

Students working as a pair make a joint presentation and receive the same mark. Normally (but not always) the supervisor is one of the two members of staff who mark the presentation. All staff use the same criteria, indicated above.

You will be held strictly to the time limit (10 minutes for the talk, plus two for questions). If it looks like you may overrun, you may get a “yellow card” signalling two minutes left. After ten minutes, you will have to stop.
