FINAL HONORS SCIENCE 8 PROJECT

“Make an Earth science Music Video”

DUE THURSDAY, JUNE 4th

PRODUCT: music video

SUBJECT: any topic that we learned about in Earth science this year

SIZE OF GROUPS: 3 or less

Research and Take Notes:

·  Gather information. Look in your textbook to gather information about an Earth science topic of your choice.

·  Submit your group members’ names and topic choice to Mr. Harris on Monday, June 11th.

·  Decide if your group is going to perform live or is going to the recording studio (outside of class) to lay down your track.

·  Plan ahead. Write down ideas for ways to produce your music video.

Develop Your Video:

·  Decide on the content. Write a song for your music video. Write the lyrics to your song on a sheet of paper and add a paragraph describing what you want to show in your video to go with the music.

·  Plan the visual aspects. What will be the visual content of your recording? What will the “star” do? How will you add special effects?

·  Who will record the video? Line up assistants and video equipment to be available when you need them.

Produce Your Video:

·  Rehearse the video. Conduct a few trial runs of your music video without recording it. Make changes as you go to improve it.

·  Produce the video. Record your video. If you make a mistake, you can record it again.

·  If you record your video, submit it on a DVD/CD or as a “You Tube” email attachment.

·  Present your video. Submit a TYPED copy of your song lyrics and play your video for the class.
