INFORMAL CONFERENCES

February 29, 2008

TIME AND PLACE: The informal conferences held before an Agency Subordinate of the Board of Nursing were convened at 9:10 A.M., in Hearing Room 3, Department of Health Professions, 9960 Mayland Drive, Suite 201, Richmond, Virginia.

AGENCY

SUBORDINATE: Janet B. Younger, R.N., P.N.P., Ph.D.

STAFF PRESENT: Gloria D. Mitchell, R.N., M.S.N., M.B.A., Deputy Executive Director, Discipline

Marybeth Shelton, Senior Adjudication Specialist

OTHERS PRESENT: One nursing student from Virginia Commonwealth University

CONFERENCES

SCHEDULED: Sheila Ryan, L.P.N. 0002-072060

Ms. Ryan did not appear.

Based upon information provided by Ms. Shelton, Dr. Younger ruled that adequate notice was given to Ms. Ryan.

A recommended decision will be made and mailed to Ms. Ryan within ninety days.

This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall be a Final Order.

CONFERENCES

SCHEDULED: Janet Blackwood, R.N. 0001-147864, L.N.P. 0024-147864

Ms. Blackwood appeared, accompanied by her husband, Mike Blackwood and Martha Spruill, Health Practitioners Intervention Program Case Manager.

Ms. Blackwood was informed a recommended decision will be made and mailed to her within ninety days.

This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall become a Final Order thirty days after service of such order on Ms. Blackwood unless a written request to the Board for a formal hearing on the allegations made against her is received from Ms. Blackwood within such time. If service of the order is made by mail, three additional days shall be added to that period. Upon such timely request for a formal hearing, the Order shall be vacated.

CONFERENCES

CONTINUED: Carolyn Hall, R.N. 0001-147864

Ms. Hall did not appear.

Based upon information provided by Ms. Shelton, Dr. Younger ruled that adequate notice was given to Ms. Hall.

CONFERENCES

SCHEDULED: Erin Henley Funderburg, R.N. 0001-190781

Ms. Funderburg appeared, accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henley; her husband, Jeff Funderburg; and attorney, Michael Goodman.

Ms. Funderburg was informed a recommended decision will be made and mailed to her within ninety days.

This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall become a Final Order thirty days after service of such order on Ms. Funderburg unless a written request to the Board for a formal hearing on the allegations made against her is received from Ms. Funderburg within such time. If service of the order is made by mail, three additional days shall be added to that period. Upon such timely request for a formal hearing, the Order shall be vacated.
