-Adam reviewed the minutes from the March 28, 2014 meeting. Miranda Polaski made a motion to approve the minutes. Greta Coleman seconded. Minutes approved.

  1. National SAAC Update – Amy Berry

-Amy provided an update regarding National SAAC. The NCAA Convention in January will be her last event as the CACC National SAAC representatives. Nominations have been solicited by the conference office to take her place. Each conference must submit a pool of at least four nominees from four different institutions. (A conference may nominate one male and one female from the same institution in the conference.) At the time of appointment, the student-athlete must have a minimum of two years of athletics eligibility remaining. Student-athletes may serve on the committee up to one year after their intercollegiate athletics eligibility is exhausted. Student-athlete representatives serve one-three year term. The nomination forms must be submitted by October 3, 2014.

  1. Faculty Mentor Award – Attachment #3

-Associate Professor at Chestnut Hill, Sister Jean Faustman was selected as the CACC nominee for last year’s award. The Saint Michaels FAR (Northeast-10) won the 2013-14 award. Only three schools submitted nominations for the award in 2013-14.

  1. SAAC Legislative Grids – Attachment #5

- The SPOPL should be distributed on Tuesday, September 23rd. A conference call will be held on a Sunday evening in early October (tentatively 10/5) to review each proposal. Following the initial call, each campus SAAC group should meet to vote on the proposals and complete the grids. A final conference call will be held on a Sunday in mid-October (tentatively 10/19) to report the voting outcomes to Amy Berry and Ellen O’Brien. Grids are due to Ellen and Amy by October 31st.

  1. SAAC Retreat – Attachment #6

-Attachment #6 outlines the agenda from last year’s ECC retreat. The agenda for the CACC-ECC joint retreat will be similar this year in March. It is requested that each CACC institution send two student-athletes (preferably one male and one female) to the overnight retreat on March 20-21.

  1. Conference Update – Commissioner Mara

-The CACC will be starting a Hall of Fame per the request of the Presidents Council.

-The CACC will be hosting official men’s and women’s track and field championships in May 2015.

-This year marks the 10th anniversary of CACC membership in Division II.

-Libby Nichols (Philadelphia University) is in the top 30 for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. The ceremony is in Indianapolis in October. She is the second CACC student-athlete to be recognized in the top 30 (Heather Walker – GCU made top nine).

-The CACC will be hosting a golf event for administrators, vendors, and assignors in spring 2015.
