February Is Fundraising Month at Churchville

Hello Churchville Families!

February is Fundraising month at Churchville. We do this once a year and once only and we are looking for your support. Last year, if you remember, we fundraised to purchase 2 outdoor basketball nets, a 3D printer, Dash and Dot Robots and an outdoor sound system. All items were purchased and are used to enhance the wonderful learning community here at Churchville.

With input from our students and staff, this year’s target is $10,000.00 to purchase the following:

·  2 Ping-Pong tables

·  A Drone (to learn about proper use of cutting edge technology and to be able to take amazing aerial photos and videos of school events)

·  A Water Bottle Filling Station (to support healthy, active living and our ‘green’ focus)

·  Individual Water Dispensing Stations for each portable

·  An additional outdoor painted 4-Square Court (students ask for this daily!)

On-line Donations: Here’s how it works: Students get pledges from friends and family members supporting their involvement in a Move-a-Thon on February 28th. Each class will have a time slot in the gym with an expert doing a fun, energizing and inspiring workout. In this way we promote healthy active living and everyone has a role to play in helping our school to become better and better.

Instead of having to collect cash this year, all contributions can be made using our School Cash On-line system. It is fast and easy using the item menu as you do for pizza or other purchases. Friends and family members will have an opportunity to donate as well. Just go to https://peelschools.schoolcashonline.com/ and select the ‘donation’ button to get started. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $25 or more.

From all donations made on or before February 28th, the names of 12 lucky students will be drawn.

Ten will win a special lunch with Mrs. Ho, Ms. Dytyniak and Mrs. Crofoot

One student will get to be the Vice Principal for the day

One student will have a chance to be Principal for the day!

PLUS – At 12 NOON on February 27th we will tally the donations per class. The class with the largest donation total will win an Ice Cream Party!!!

Corporate Donations – In response to parent requests, we have created a

Donor Recognition Board which will hang in our front hall honouring the names of Corporations who have made donations to Churchville Public School (Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of donation)
