FCS PTO Meeting Minutes

April6,2017call to meeting at 3:30 p.m.

Present: Bonnie Wagner, Laura Habecker, Becki Buck, Cassandra Hennard, Laura Sisson, Dr. Wendy Butler, Laura Sisson, Addie Silbert

Welcome - Laura Habecker welcomed members to the meeting

-Review February Minutes and March Notes and approve for records

-Laura Sisson motioned to accept, Cassandra Hennard seconded;all in favor, motion approved.

Treasurers Report-Laura Sisson

-Deposited $539 into account

-Smencils are a good fundraiser

Ongoing

Weekend food bags- Addie Silbert

Taken over by Houghton Wesleyan Churchand named “Our Daily Bread”, paid for from the Benevolent Fund from the church

Meetings once a month at the Church

She shops for food, Volunteers stuff the bags

Done 480 since Thanksgiving- 120 per break

Shelf stable items/$7 per student/$630-$650 each time

Students are “Very Appreciative”

Done per student/not per home

Use conference room at school to pack

Would like to make it more sustainable

Winter 2017

  • Peppermint Smencils- Bonnie Wagner/Laura Sisson
  • Sold 350 to teachers for testing/well received- students liked them
  • Sold for $.60 each
  • Testing Treats- Bonnie Wagner/ Laura Habecker
  • ELA treats went well
  • Math Treats handed out for May 2-4th
  • All teachers are very Appreciative

Spring 2017

  • Calendar for 2017-2018-Laura Habecker/Wendy Butler
  • Sign up for PTO committees at Open House
  • Schedule meetings second Thursday of the month, unless a conflict with a break
  • Alternate 3:30 p.m./6:30 p.m.
  • Fine Arts Festival- Laura Habecker
  • May 31st from 6-8 pm
  • Lindsey Seitz-Peters will man the table
  • sell Smencils at this time- about 250 left
  • Teacher Appreciation Week– Laura Sisson and Cassandra Hennard
  • May 1 – May 5.
  • -The school administration will take May 2nd.
  • -creating a treat for mailboxes- 175ish needed
  • -post on facebook needs of donated items for Wednesday May 3rd “Lunch” for teachers
  • 10:15-1 pm
  • -use money from account to cover things not donated
  • Elementary Field Day-Laura Habecker
  • Genesee Rapids will help

Open Floor- Bracelets for Awareness- Laura Habecker/Bonnie Wagner

  • Autism, Down Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy,etc.
  • Create one bracelet to sell to students/parents/teachers for Awareness?
