Please note:
1. To facilitate the playing of matches in midweek after school, games in the first round have been regionalised as far as possible. Open draws will be made for the quarter- and semi-finals
2. If schools are unable to mutually agree on a date to play, as if sometimes the case with players being unavailable because of examination commitments, the game must be played on the published limit date for that round. The purpose of having Saturday limit dates is that, with external examinations starting ever earlier and with Year 12 students now involved in AS Levels, as well as Year 11 in GCSE and Year 13 in A Levels, there is a “default” day when all students will be clear of examination commitments - and, in addition, will be free of such commitments the following day. Schools are asked to respect this and avoid putting opponents under pressure to play in midweek when players may need to miss lessons to play and/or travel or may have an exam on the day in question or the next day. In the event of any dispute as to when a match should be played, the Competition Secretary will rule that it must be played on the limit date.
3. Matches should be of minimum 30 overs each innings.In accordance with ECB rulings, an individual bowler may only bowl up to a maximum of one-fifth of the total overs scheduled to be faced by the opposing team (i.e. if the match is 30 overs per side – minimum for the Lemon Cup – a bowler may bowl a maximum of six overs)
