Father’s Day Card Project

Fourth Grade

Marie Louise Lawson

Objective: Students use Word Processor to create a card for Father’s Day. By the end of this lesson, they will understand how to create and save a Word document.

NJCCCS: 8.1.A, 3.2.A.4, 3.2.D.12

Procedure: Students follow the directions on the following three (3) worksheets to complete a card with Word Processor. This project will take three (3) days or class periods in the computer lab to complete.

Day 1: Students write a poem to be included in their card. They save and print their work and have another student peer-review their work.

Day 2: Students finish any work from Day 1 that was not completed. Students also make any suggested changes to their poem. Students will practice opening and saving files on this day.

Day 3: Students cut and paste their poem into a greeting card template. They can then decorate their card as they wish, keeping in the theme of the assignment. When they are finished, they will save their work and print their card.
