Farmville Area Bus (FAB)

Just a few reminders for using the FAB. The FAB Campus and DirectLineswill begin running on Monday (August 23). There will be two buses running during morning peak hours (7:15 am to 11:00 am), the Direct Line runsfrom Lancer Park to campus. The CampusLine runs Lancer Park to campus to Longwood Village apartments to campus and back to Lancer Park.
When riding the bus … please remember:
Show your student id to the driver when entering the bus. Passengers without an id will be charged $0.25.
Pick ups occur on the right side of the bus. The driver will not stop for passengers that are opposite the door or needing to cross the street
AnnounceNEXT STOP when you are approaching the area that you need to exit the bus
PLAN AHEAD – passengers are greatest in the mornings from 7:45 to 10:45, with most commuters using the bus 15 minutes prior to class
DO NOTeat or drink on the bus
DO NOT use profanity
DO NOT disrespect the driver or other passengers (the driver, the FAB, nor your peers has anything to do with the hours, routes, or parking)
BE patient and remember you are using public transportation
The buses are equipped for 20 seated passengers and roughly 10-12 standing passengers. You may not always be a seated passenger but you can still ride.
Always use the handle rails, the buses are equipped for standing passengers!!!
Student handbook policies do apply on the bus and Judicial charges are in effect.
FAB CAMPUS LINE ROUTE & STOPS
Starting at Lancer Park (mail boxes, club house, bottom of the hill)-St. George-High St (across from Grainger/Admissions house).-Griffin St.(behind Cox)-corner of Redford Race St.(library)-corner of Franklin St.Pine St.(Hull)-Longwood Village (LV)
- It typically takes 5 minutes from LancerPark to the first stop,2 minutes between each on campus stop, and 7 minutes to LongwoodVillage.
SUNCHASE residents wanting to use the FAB can take the BLUE LINE(Your stop is at the clubhouse immediately following the Third St.and Cedar St.stop).
Express Line-runs from Main Campus to the Rose’s shopping Center and to Wal-Mart. Pick-ups are behind Cox and at the corner of Curry.
