Farmington Boys Basketball Booster Club meeting minutes – Thursday, 8/25/16

A $75.00 Booster membership along with a decal was voted in.

Approval of amended by-laws (with addition of Booster Membership) – first motion Emily Rollag, second motion Amy Huschka.

$150.00 membership for businesses? Go in & ask instead of mailing letter. We want to check with the Tiger Fan Club on contacting businesses. If they are contacting businesses and if so, how are they going about it.

Mary will draft up a Membership letter and business Membership letter for the next meeting.

Tiger Fan Club

  • Membership Fee - $400 fee will be paid to Tiger Fan Club to join.
  • Attendee for Meetings – Heather then ______2nd Wednesday of the month.

-Coach’s Report

  • Coach Johnson discussed upcoming dates for holiday tournaments, Saturday game 1/21/16, 9th grade tournament dates and other events. Most will be listed on the communication Coach Johnson will send out in the next week.
  • Other dates besides games & tournaments: 2/14/16 Parents night, 2/28/17 Senior night and 3/21/17 Banquet.
  • 11/28/16 – Meet the Tigers night. Pizza after practice (possibly Travel basketball would cover pizza cost)
  • Game days are on the events calendar.
  • 9th – 12th students free to FHS sporting events. (excludes football & hockey) K-8 being considered as well.
  • Will get a letter out to parents with upcoming dates:
  • 11/14/16 – 9th grade tryouts
  • 11/21/16 -10th – 12th tryouts
  • By MSHSL – week of Thanksgiving 21st & 22nd, before and after school practice.
  • JV & Varsity – Friday/Saturday after Thanksgiving – practice.
  • 12/3-12/4 – Boys Tiger Classic. Will need score keepers.

-Booster club could provide funds for the following items:

  • Stats Program - $1,000.00 (already paid for)
  • Travel suit - $100.00 per player (Adidas)
  • $5,000.00 for everyone – instead of purchasing all of the items, shoes, warm ups, etc.
  • $30 towards meals per parents – Pasta/Sandwiches. No one asked for reimbursement last year. Road games – sandwich & water.
  • Team meals to include 9th grade this year.
  • Posters for gym
  • Year End banquet
  • Assistant Varsity Coach - $3500.00 (possibly $2000.00 from Travel basketball)
  • Town Sports freebies
  • Adidas has decals

  • Meeting Cadence – Third Thursday of the month at 7pm. Add this to bylaws. If a game, discuss at previous meeting. Motion to approve – First – Lynda Speikers & second by Amy Huschka.
