FAQ’s for Invigilators, NASOP Trial 2014
Organising School Appointments
Q: Who organises the appointment with the school?
A: Pearson will organise appointments with schools. If you are the primary invigilator, please confirm your appointment details with the school 2-3 days prior to your invigilation.
Q: What do I do if a 2nd invigilator is required?
A: Pearson will ensure that there are enough invigilators for the testing at the school. All materials required for the invigilation will be sent to the primary invigilator.
Q: What is the role of the 2nd invigilator?
A: The role is largely the same. You are likely to be in different parts of the school, so you just need to meet with the primary invigilator, receive your Student InformationSheet and Invigilator Information Sheet from them before heading off to where you are invigilating
Visiting schools
Q:How early should you arrive at the school?
A: We advise that wherever possible you arrive at the school 60 minutes before the start of the first test you are invigilating.
Q:Who should I ask for when I arrive at the school?
A: Please ask for the school contact in your schedule of work, the member of staff at the school who Pearsonhave liaised with to organise all logistical details.
Q: When I arrive at the school, what should I do if the school tries to change the arrangements already in place, for example changing the time of the test?
A: Wherever possible, please continue to work with the school collaboratively to find a solution to any issues that arrive on the day with the testing logistics. If the school needs to amend the time of a testing session for example, does this work with your schedule? If so, we would request that you are as flexible as possible in accommodating the school request. If you are unable to meet the school request, please contact the Pearson helpdesk immediately(1800 665 627)
Q: Will schools receive back student results from the tests?
A: ACARA have advised that non-identifiable student data will be collected and stored. The purpose of the data is to inform the research findings to provide evidence-based information to facilitate future decisions by education ministers about the delivery of Australia’s National Assessment Program. At the conclusion of the research program, ACARA will provide schools with a summary of raw scores of their students’ performance in the assessment.
