Healing Hands Yard Sale Saturday Stop by the new clinic location at 440 Red Bud Road, in the Sequoyah Shopping Center (Piggly Wiggly). The sale will be held inside thenew large, spacious facility rain or shine.Doors open at 7:00 a.m. The clinic is "funded" solely by donations.
Mental Illness Awareness WeekMany people in our communities deal with many struggles daily—drug/alcohol abuse, mental illnesses, suicide, unemployment, bullying, homelessness, sexual/domestic violence and abuse, etc.Support NAMI especially during the first week in October: Mental Illness Awareness Week. Two events are: National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and UnderstandingTuesday, Oct. 7th, 7-8 PM at Rome First Presbyterian Church and Send Stigma to the Sky—Balloon Release Gather by the statue of Admiral Tower on the side of the City Auditoriumand release a balloon, signifying stigma, Thursday, Oct. 9th, 11:45 – 12:15 PM, 601 Broad St, Rome.
Gordon County Business EXPO 2014 This year’s event is on Wednesday, October 22, from 10-2 at Calhoun High School and full of new features, ideas and opportunities.

Gordon County Hunger Walk 2014 Bring your family and friends to walk to raise awareness about the hunger in our community. Registration at 2:30 pm on Sunday, 11/2. The walk starts at 3:00 at the Calhoun Recreation Center on River St. Ample parking on McDaniel Station Road. Information at 706-629-2445.
Take Action: Become Involved with CASA Did you know there are several ways you can become involved with the CASA/Court Appointed Special Advocates program here in Gordon County? The primary way is by becoming a CASA volunteer, advocating for the best interest of abused and neglected children, both in and out of the courtroom.
