1:00-6:00PM Math Placement Test
Beracha Hall – Student Lounge
If you need to take the math placement test, you were notified prior to arrival at SLU. If you were unable to take this online test prior to arriving at SLU, you can get support in completing the test during this time.
3:00 PM Watch a Televised St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Game
Beracha Hall – Student Lounge
Come learn more about Major League Baseball in the United States, the 11 time World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, and watch as the St. Louis Cardinals play the Pittsburg Pirates.
7:00PM Men’s Soccer Game
Meet outside the Center for Global Citizenship to walk to Hermann Stadium
Collect your SLU T-shirt and cheer on SLU Men’s Soccer team as they compete against the University of Kentucky.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 20

Look for clues with your mentor group and learn more about the resources and support services available on campus! The winning team will earn a prize!
1:00-6:00PM Campus Tour/SLU ID/Bank Account/Math Placement Test/IT Support
Meet at the Center for Global Citizenship
International Ambassadors will assist you with a campus tour, getting your SLU ID, setting up a bank account, taking the math placement test, and setting up your SLU account and electronic devices.
Bring your passport to set up a bank account.
Bring your laptops, smart devices (phones, tablets, etc.).
Bring your SLU username and password.

Take part in an evening of bowling, ping pong, and billiards with International Ambassadors, staff, and your fellow new students.
MONDAY, AUGUST 21
9:00-9:30 AM Welcome
Center for Global Citizenship Auditorium
Faculty, staff and students will welcome you to SLU and provide an overview of orientation activities.
9:30-10:30AM SLU Written Examination (SLUWE) Test Preparation
Center for Global Citizenship Auditorium
Get prepared with tips and strategies for taking the SLU Written Examination. This session is helpful for all students required to take the SLUWE – both graduate and undergraduate.
10:30-2:00PM Great American Eclipse and Lunch with Mentors
Meet at the Pius Library Circle to board the bus to Wehner Park
Students will get to experience an American phenomenon that will not happen again for over 300 years! A solar eclipse is a natural spectacle in which the moon completely blocks the sun. This solar eclipse is known as the Great American Eclipse because it can only be seen in the United States. Students will enjoy lunch in the park and icebreaker activities with their peer mentors, before experiencing the Great American Eclipse.
2:00-5:00PM Shopping at Walmart
Buses leave from Wehner Park
Join International Ambassadors for a shopping trip to get some basic necessities as well as a cell phone. The international ambassadors will assist you in taking your purchased items back to your room.
6:30-7:30PM Campus Tour
Meet at the Center for Global Citizenship
International Ambassadors will give you a tour of SLU’s campus.
7:30PM Simon Recreation Center Tour and Activities
Meet outside the Simon Recreation Center
Tour the Simon Recreation Center, learn about various athletic resources and programs, and join your fellow students for activities.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 22
8:30-11:00AM Graduate SLUWE Testing
Beracha Hall – Room 221
All graduate level Academic English and Graduate Pathway students are required to complete this writing exam.
Direct admit graduate students should confirm with their department whether a Graduate SLUWE is required.
9:30-11:00AM Undergraduate SLUWE Testing
Meet in Cook Atrium for testing room assignments
All new undergraduate international students are required to complete this writing exam (exemptions were determined during your admission process and are limited to exchange students, SLU Madrid transfers, students with college-level English in the U.S. and students from English-speaking countries).

Families of SLU students can attend this information session to learn about various services provided to SLU students to ensure their student’s success.
12:00-1:30PM Taste of St. Louis Lunch + Resource Fair
Busch Student Center 172 and 173
Enjoy a sampling of cuisine unique to St. Louis and meet other international students,
and representatives from other SLU offices! You will be able to sign up for a cell phone and banking services. You can also meet student organizations to learn how you can get involved on campus. You will also have an opportunity take your picture with the Billiken!
1:30-2:30PM Immigration Information

The Office of International Services will review the immigration regulations students must follow to maintain status while in the United States. This session will complete your required check in process for your student visa.
Bring your passport and I-20 or DS-2019.
2:30 - 4:30PM Information Sessions
Meet in Cook Atrium for room assignments
Get valuable information regarding various campus resources that are offered to you: Student Health, Academic Support, Meal Plans, Payments, and Student Privacy.
Bring COPIES of your health and immunization forms.
Bring your laptops or smart devices (phones, tablets, etc).
Bring your SLU username and password.
4:45-5:30PM Residence Life Activity
Meet with the Housing and Residence Life staff members who will support you while living on-campus. Learn about rules for on-campus life and about activities to help you connect to the SLU community!
6:30PM Ice Cream Social
Meet at the Center for Global Citizenship
Join SLU staff and student leaders for some St. Louis ice cream! You can also pick up your immigration documents that you turned in during the Immigration Information Session.

Beracha Hall – Student Lounge Receive your SLUWE score and learn about class registration.
10:00AM-11:30AM Oxford Online Placement Testing (Pathway students)

All Academic English and Pathway students are required to take the Oxford Online Placement Test.

10:00-11:00AM INTO SLU Study Plan and Group Advising Sessions
Meet in Beracha Hall – Student Lounge for room assignments
Students in INTO SLU programs will receive information about their study plan, learn about classes, and have a chance to ask questions about your program of study.
12:00 – 3:00PM INTO SLU Finance and Admission Check-in
Beracha Hall – First Floor
INTO SLU Academic English and Pathway students will complete the Finance and Admissions check-in. You will be able to ask questions about your INTO SLU program. Please confirm your scheduled time to complete this check-in, which is determined by the first letter of your family (last) name.
Bring your official transcripts and any outstanding payments. We accept credit/debit cards, cash and checks.
3:30 PM New Student Convocation

Take part in SLU’s official welcoming ceremony to all new incoming students!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2
11:00AM-3:00PM City Tour & St. Louis Zoo
Meet at the Pius Library circle
Join International Ambassadors for a tour of Saint Louis. The tour will end at the St. Louis Zoo, which has free admission! You might want to bring cash or credit cards if you would like to buy lunch, snacks or souvenirs at the Zoo. The Zooline railway also charges a small fee, but is highly recommended! You may travel back to SLU on the bus at 3, or take the Forest Park Trolley and Metro Train at a later time if you wish to spend more time with the animals!
