RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) SCREENING FORM

Thank you for enquiring about the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process in the Unit for Applied Law at CPUT.

Kindly note that you may apply for the RPL if you do not meet the prescribed requirements for admission to the abovementioned programme. Complete the screening form if you are of the opinion that your work experience and knowledge match the prescribed requirements for this degree at entry level. A pre-screening process will determine whether you may continue with the RPL application and you will be informed accordingly. Please have regard to the RPL options below.

RPL Options

(1)RPL for Access:

Candidatesmay apply for RPLwhen the following conditions are met:

  • The candidate is in possession of a Grade 12 National Senior Certificate but without a degree admission.

Process:

-Please complete this screening questionnaire;

-Submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae;

-Submit certified copies of qualifications and

-Submita letter from your employer confirming the position that you currently occupy.

  • The candidate is not in possession of a Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.

Process:

-Please complete this screening questionnaire

-Please compile a detailed portfolio of evidence (POE).

-Submita letter from your employer confirming the position that you currently occupy.

  • Additional interviews and assessments may be required.
  • Access may be granted for admission to 1st year of a qualification only.

(2)RPL for Subject Exemption:

Students will be informed upon registration of the RPL for specific subjects.
