(A)What is PROFESSIONAL CONVERSION PROGRAMME FOR RAILWAY STATION MANAGERS/ ASSISTANT STATION MANAGERS?

The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Railway Station Managers/ Assistant Station Managers(SM/ASM) is a company-initiated Place-and-Train programme, hosted by twoPublic Transport Operators: SMRT Corporation Limited (SMRT), and SBS Transit Limited (SBST).The programme is opened to mid-career switchers and aims to train and equip them with the knowledge and skills to become qualified Station Managers or Assistant Station Managers. As it is a Place-and-Train programme, candidates must secure employment with a participating employer in order to qualify.

2.Participants will undergo a company-initiated PCP with training duration of up to 4months. An overview of the PCP for SM/ASM can be found in Annex A.

(B)WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN pcp for sm/asm?

3.All interested individuals, who are willing to work 3 rotating shifts,can apply for PCP for SM/ASM if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Possess any Engineering Diploma or relevant qualifications,
  2. Have at least 2 years of working experience, and
  3. Have no colour vision deficiency.

(C)WHAT KINDS OF CAREER OPPORUNITIES CAN INDIVIDUALS LOOK FORWARD TO?

4.Besides managing the day-to-day operations at train stations and carrying out crowd control and incident management duties, SMs and ASMs are required to provide track protection, as well signal and control train services, especially since most lines are now under Unattended-Train-Operations. They also play an increasingly important role in maintaining a high level of operational readiness to handle large-scale train service disruption incidents. With relevant acquired experience and skills, SMs and ASMs may look forward to become Senior SMs or Chief SMs in charge of mentoring and sharing of knowledge through conducting training, service coaching and even auditing.

(D)WHAT KIND OF FUNDING SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE?

5.Course Fees and Salary under the PCP are fully funded by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and PCP employers. No fees will be incurred by participants.
