The greatest enemy of mankind, as people have discovered, is not science, but war. Science merely reflects the prevailing social forces. It is found that, when there is peace, science is constructive. When there is war science is prevented to destructive ends. Q.No.1) A limited company purchased second hand machinery on 1st January 2009 for (20)

Rs.1,74,000 and spent Rs.6,000 on its installation. On 1st July 2010, it purchased another machine for Rs.2,00,000 and on 1st July 2011, it sold the first machine, which was purchased in 2009 for Rs.1,56,000. On the same date, it purchased machinery for Rs.1,00,000. On 1st July 2012, the second machine purchased for Rs.2,00,000 was sold for Rs.40,000. Depreciation was provided on machinery at the rate of 10% per annum on the original cost. The accounting year of the company ends on 31st December every year. In 2011, however the company changed the method of providing depreciation respectively from 2009 and adopted the written down value method, percentage of depreciation being 20% per annum. Prepare machinery account for the year 2009 to 2012.
