TheHealthProfessionsScholarshipProgramisforAmericanIndianandAlaskaNativestudents,whoaremembersof theirTribe,enrolled inhealthprofessionsandalliedhealthprofessionsprograms.Studentsincurserviceobligations andpaybackrequirementsonacceptanceoffundingfromthisprogram.Priority isgiventograduatestudentsand juniorandseniorlevelstudents.

HealthProfessionsScholarshipsareawardedforaoneyearperiod(12monthsofsupport),withreapplications requiredforeachyearofcontinuation.

(M.D.)orOsteopathic(D.O.)Medicine;FamilyNursePractitionerEducation;NurseMidwiferyEducation;orPhysician AssistantTraining.Participantsmustbewillingto servetheunderservedinanyhealthprofessionalshortageareain theU.S.Thescholarshipconsistsofpaymentfortuition,fees,otherreasonableeducationalcosts,andamonthly supportstipend.Inreturn,thestudentsagreetoprovideoneyearofserviceintheHealthProfessionalShortageAreaofgreatestneedtowhichtheyareassignedforeachschoolyearorpartialschoolyearofscholarshipsupportreceived,withaminimum2-yearservicecommitmentandamaximum4-yearcommitment.

U.S. Armed Forces MedicalScholarship Health ProfessionsScholarship Program (HPSP)

Qualifyingstudentsreceivefulltuition and a monthly stipend during their medicalschool program. Aftergraduation, students enteractivedutyin their specialty. The active duty service obligation is one year of service for every year of scholarship, with a minimum obligation of two years.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify:

Beenrolledinanaccreditedgraduateprograminthe U.S.

Maintainfull-timestudentstatusduringthelengthof theprogram. QualifyasacommissionedOfficerintheUnitedStatesArmed Forces.
