Exploring the Louisiana Purchase

Use the map on p. 216 in the textbook as a guide.

1.  Label all of the US States and Territories as of 1804.

2.  Locate and label the places described below with its name and the letter of the description:

3.  Use 3 different colors to show the route of Louis and Clark’s expedition (1804-1806), and the routes of Pike’s two expeditions (1805-1806 and 1806-1807)

4.  Jefferson stated in his first inaugural address that the United States was “kindly separated by nature and a wide ocean from the exterminating havoc of one quarter of the globe.”
