EXOFFICIO and Dan Cook Traveling 75,000 miles around the world in search of fish and friendship
August 24, 2006 Denver, Colorado – Starting with a 1900 mile trip down the Yukon River, Dan Cook is embarking on the adventure of a lifetime and using EXOFFICIO to make it happen. Dan said goodbye to his life as an energy commodities trader in San Diego, California and decided to follow his passions of travel and fishing. Fly Fishing Around the Globe was born and grew into a two year adventure that has included racing in the Baja 1000 and a 1900 mile non-motorized float trip down the Yukon river in a whitewater expedition dory.
The goal of the trip is to explore some of most well known fishing spots in the world and to discover some new ones along the way. Over the next two years Dan will travel from Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Mongolia, Europe, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, the United States, Canada and back to Alaska with over 75,000 miles of fish stories to tell.
When getting ready for this amazing adventure Dan started looking for partners and EXOFFICIO was his first consideration for outfitting.

For this road trip of a life time Dan commissioned a unique truck from Mount Logan Off Road in Logan, Utah. To thoroughly road test the 2000 Fly Fishing the Globe Baja Truck, Dan and his crew raced it in the Trophy Truck Class at the 2005 Baja 1000. It was also on display at the SEMA Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada in November 2005. The truck will be on display at EXOFFICIO’s booth at the Fly Fishing Retailer World Expo at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado August 24 through 26.

About Dan Cook
Dan has been fortunate to be able to call Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Northern California and Utah all home at one time. Living in these beautiful environments instilled an appreciation and enthusiasm for the outdoors. Dan began a career as a foreign exchange trader in New York City.
