Dear Parents and Guardians,
Renovation of St Bride’s Church
Major renovation work is scheduled to be carried out on St Bride’s RC Church, situated on Platthorn Drive. This work is due to begin immediately after the Christmas break and lasting well into the Autumn of 2016, with scaffolding being erected prior to Christmas. The Parent Council have met with representatives from the main Contractor and the Church and have been given assurances that all health and safety procedures have been considered and put in place. The company have agreed to liaise closely with us throughout this period of time, helping to ensure there is minimum disruption to the life of the school.
However, access to Platthorn Drive may be affected as a result of necessary equipment, delivery of building materials and extra traffic. The company have told us that they will endeavour to make sure they avoid heavy use of this road at the start and end of the school day but this might not always be possible resulting in extra congestion and delays.
Therefore, could I ask parents and guardians to minimise the use of Platthorn Drive during these times where possible. Of course, our disabled bays immediately in front of our building will still be available to parents or guardians and visitors with Blue Badge Disabled Persons’ Parking Permits.
