2/10/14 Meeting Minutes

President Sarah Aldridge called the meeting to order.
Executive Board Elections were held last meeting. The 2014 Executive Board is; President, Anna Hathcock ; Vice President, Caroline Fisher; AND Secretary, Emily Shriver; Promotions/Marketing Chair, Will Yoder; Finance Chair, Callie Alvarado and Caitlin Epstein is Social Chair. Advisor Ron Ferrell swore the new Executive Board into office.
2014 President Anna Hathcock began conducting the meeting.
Chair Anna Hathcock spoke about the By-laws Committee, co-chair Mariana Mendez. Will, Austin B., Caitlin, Emily S., Abby, Emily N., Ugoji, Caroline F., and Madi J. are the members. They met 1/30, and again Monday, 2/10. Anna Hathcock gave a short synopsis of the committee's goals for revising the By-Laws.
Social Chair Caitlin Epstein spoke about Cici's Pizza Social, 2/20, 6pm, $6 plus tax
Chair Alexandra Spriggs spoke about Teddy Bear Drop, 2/3, 3:30pm, Build-A-Bear at Concord Mills. Volunteers Anna Catherine, Matthew H., Callie, Cassidy, Andrew, Mary Lauren, Loren, and Sarah H. made 9 bears that were donated to Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital.
Chair Mariana Mendez spoke about Cabarrus Partnership for Children, Make & Take Event, 2/8, 9:45-11:15am. The following attended: Mariana, Katherine and Ugoji.
President Anna Hathcock spoke about City Council Meetings, 6pm, Municipal Building, 26 Union St. S. Members who attend must sign in with Kim Deason or Peter F. Members signed up to attend the following meetings are:

Chair Abby Stoddard talked about Valentines2Seniors, 2/14, 3:30pm, Crescent Heights Senior Living Center. Members signed up to attend are: John E., Will Y., Abigail, and Dorothy.
Chair Emily Shriver spoke about Ushering at Old Courthouse Theatre, 7-11pm, co-chair Caroline Fisher. The following have signed up to volunteer:2/14: Caroline, Will & Ugoji; 2/15: Emily, Mariana & Katherine; 2/21: Caroline, Rachel & Anna S.; 2/22: Emily, Maddie B. and Ugoji.
Tre' Williams spoke about the Community Free Clinic in the absence of Chair Alexas Gorbey, 2/18, 6-8pm. Olivia, Alexas and Austin G. are signed up to attend.
Chair Matthew Hendrix spoke about SeussFest. 3/1, 10am-1pm, Concord Library. Volunteers will play Seuss related games and crafts with children after the library reads them a Seuss book. Sign-Up Genius link will go out soon.
Quest for the Code, 3/15, 5:30-10pm. Chair Riley Olson. Sign-Up Genius out the first of March.
Chair Anna Hathcock spoke about the Awards Banquet, 5/19, Hotel Concord. PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR, co-chair Sarah Aldridge. Committee Chairs are: Madison J.-Invitations, Raina M.-Reservations, Abby- Programs, Austin B.-Food/Drinks, Emily N.-Decorations, Seth K.-Clean-Up
Social Chair, Caitlin Epstein led a Brainstorming Activity for the entire council, in order to get new ideas for socials. Members came up with lists of fun socials they would like to see happen, and shared them with the rest of the council.
