May 2009 – January 2011 / Software Engineer
Designed in UML and developed in ADA, real-time embedded software for commuter trains. Developed software using Rational Apex under Solaris. Code was cross-compiled and downloaded to the target PowerPC and x86 systems.
Projects included: (1) improving efficiency of automated railroad crossing gates by networking all gates to an intelligent grade crossing system, (2) automating the braking of trains entering a railroad station, (3) calculating minimum time of arrival for trains at railroad crossing gates by creating a Perl script, and (4) enhancing the Graphical User Interface (GUI) client running on a desktop computer using Microsoft Visual C++.

Created a website that provides resources to entrepreneurs that want to start businesses in New York. Implemented with FrontPage, Active Server Pages (ASP), and JavaScript.
