3-D Cell models

  1. Make a 3-D Cell model of either a plant cell or an animal cell. Must be under 12 inches in width and height.
  1. Your project must be labeled. You must label yourorganelles or create a key. Use the questions in the grading section to help you develop a good project.
  1. Labels should resemble this example; includingthe name of each the organelle and what it does (importance)?

Example: Mitochondria- Powerhouse of the cell

Organelles to include:

Cell wall (if plant)RibosomesMitochondria

Cell membraneNucleus (w/ chromosomes)Vacuoles

CytoplasmLysosomes (animal)

Golgi bodies (optional)Endoplasmic reticulum (optional)

4On another sheet of paper, complete the following

Draw Animal cell- label all common parts in blue
Label all items that ONLY exist in an animal cell in red / Draw Plant cell- label all common parts in blue
Label all items that ONLY exist in an plant cell in green
Drawa single celled Organisms / Draw a multi-celled celled Organisms
List some microorganisms that are beneficial / List some microorganisms that are harmful.

On another sheet of paper, complete the following

  1. Answer these questions:

Are Microorganisms are living things?

Are Microorganismsplants?

Are Microorganisms are animals?

Check list

  1. Is your name on the project?
  2. Is the cell type identified?
  3. Are all the organelles correctly included (count the list above)?
  4. Is the model 3D?
  5. Are the organelles labeled- with what each thing does?
  6. Are the materials acceptable?
  7. Is it neat?
  8. Have you complete the drawings and questions on another sheet of paper?
  9. Does it show effort and personal best?
  10. Is the model under 12 inches in height and width?
