Updates:
Capita Spring Upgrade confirmed changes:
- Ability to define Special Arrangements eg Scribe from Focus/Candidate/Internal
- Addition of a comment box on Focus/Candidate/Internal for Special Arrangements
- Within Seating Organiser click on candidate to show what their special arrangement is (drop down box)
- Additional provisions can be added via Tools/School Setup/Special Arrangements.
JCQ A2C Project:
ALL Schools will receive an email from the service provider and they will need to register for A2C. Full details will be included on the email.
Terminal Server schools will need to register but will not be required to download the software as this will be provided through Terminal Server. It is anticipated this will be deployed middle to late May and Scomis will notify you of the date nearer the time.
Non Terminal Server schools will need to register and download the A2C software. Full instructions are included in the email.

3 July 2012- SIMS Examination Organiser – NEW Examination Officers – Results Analysis
Exeter, Great Moor House – 9.30 am – 3.30 pm
Cost: £165 per person
Audience: New Examination Officers. Working in Examinations Organiser module only.
This presentation will cover all aspects of the examination results process including importing results into the software and analysing them to produce headline analysis on Results Day.
6 July 2012 – Advanced Exam Results/Assessment Data Workshop
Exeter, Great Moor House – 9.30 am – 3.30 pm
Cost: £165 per person
Audience: Experienced Assessment Co-ordinators, Data Managers, Exam Officers producing higher level analysis. Knowledge of the Examinations and Assessment module is essential.
This workshop covers how to customise the analysis of your examination results and assessment data to suit you school’s requirements. Using Grid, Chance, Trend, Aspect and Result Set Analysis you will be able to perform a greater range of depth of analysis. We will also look at other options to report analysis from these two modules.
The workshop will also clarify the relationship between Examination Organiser, Assessment and performance analysis. BOOKING ON THIS COURSE EARLY IS RECOMMENDED AS PLACES GO QUICKLY. IF WE ARE OVERSUBSCRIBED WE WILL ENDEAVOUR TO PUT ON ADDITIONAL DATES.
11 July 2012 - SIMS Examination Organiser – Results Analysis Workshop
Exeter, Great Moor House – 9.30 am – 12.30 pm OR1.30 pm – 4.30 pm
Cost: £110 per person
Audience:Experienced Exam Officers
This workshop is designed to look at specific issues within Examinations Organiser. It will cover the use of editing PI data to include exams where no basedata is available. We will also look at other areas where further knowledge/clarification would be of benefit and also sharing good practice. Exam Officers are invited to send in any areas they would like covering at this workshop as soon as possible.

If you would like training beforehand in any aspect of Exams or would like a cheap and cheerful surgery please let me know. I am also looking to offer more Performance Analysis workshops/surgeries in the Assessment Manager area and again would welcome your suggestions.
