Hailed by critics for his “incontestable musical talent and musicality” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany), “refinement of his sound” (Piano, Great Britain) as well as “passion, sincerity and lyricism” (Culture, Russia), Russian pianist Evgeni Mikhailov has performed over seven hundred concerts around the world – from South America and USA to Chinaand Africa. He has appeared at such prestigious venues as Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Concert hall “G.Verdi” in Milan, Salle Cortot in Paris, St.-Martin-in-the-fields in London, Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire, Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, Steinway Hall in New York,City Hall in Hong Kong, CRR Concert Hall in Istanbul and many others. He is also a regular guest at many international festivals, among others in Germany (“Berlin-Moskau”), Switzerland (Internationale Musikfestwochen Luzern), Norway (Bergen International festival), USA (Bellingham music festival), Russia, Austria, Sweden etc.

Evgeni Mikhailov has performed as a soloist with Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Russian National Orchestra, Orchestre National de Belgique, St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Orchestra, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, National Philharmonic of Montevideo (Uruguay), Mexico City Philharmonic collaborating with many prominent conductors: V.Ashkenazy, M.Pletnev, S. Sondetskis, J.Caballe-Domenech, J.Mester, M.Palmer, D.Raiskin, M.Gorenstein, N.Alexeev, and others.

Evgeni Mikhailov is a prizewinner of many international piano competitions including Scriabin International Piano Competition (Moscow, Russia), Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition (Los Angeles, USA), Pozzoli International Piano Competition (Milan, Italy), and Erikson International Piano Competition (Jönköping, Sweden) among others.

Evgeni Mikhailov is an acknowledged master of so-called “Silver Age” of Russian music – the works of Medtner, Rachmaninoff, and Scriabin. His performances in Great and Small Halls of Moscow Conservatoire, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, and Great Hall of St. Petersburg Philharmonic have become a valuable tradition and have garnered rave reviews from the international music press including newspapers Musical Review and Culture (Russia), Los Angeles Times (USA), Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (Germany), Kärtner Tageszeitung (Austria) as well as magazines Piano (Great Britain), Musical Life (Russia), Observer (Sweden), La Nation (Argentina) and others.

Mr. Mikhailov has been on the jury of many national and international piano competitions. He has also conducted seminars and master classes in many cities of Russia, USA, South Korea, Sweden, and Switzerland.In 2006 he was invited to give master class and lectures at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference in USA. Many of his students are laureates of Russian national and international competitions and have active concert and teaching careers in Russia and abroad.

Mr. Mikhailov holds his degree in piano performance from the Kazan State Conservatoire and his post-graduate degree from the Moscow State Conservatoire. He has been a professor at the Kazan State Conservatoire since 1996. In2010 in recognition of his achievements, he has been awarded the title of “Honored Artist of Russian Federation”.
