PTSA Events and Activities

Below are activities and events that occur by month that the PTSA participates in itself or co-sponsors with the school.

August

Parking Lot Project (Sell at lunches Aug. 26th and 27th, Paint days Aug. 28th9-2 pm) (also in May or June)

Description: Students with their own transportation to/from school can purchase a parking space to paint and is theirs throughout the school year. Since most of these students are seniors 25% of the funds raised for this project go to the senior class.

Help needed: Work with the Project Chair to assist where needed in picking up supplies, selling parking spaces, donations, supervise students during the weekend activity, supervise and help where needed at the end of year when spaces need to be painted over.

Welcome Back Breakfast

Description: Provide sit down breakfast to the faculty and staff kicking off the start of the school year.

Help needed: Setup, serve, cleanup, and donations for breakfast items such as homemade breakfast items, juice, coffee, danishes, bagels, fruit, yogurt, and any other breakfast foods.

September

Reflections

Description: The National PTA Arts competition for students in the areas of visual arts, photography, musical composition, dance choreography, literature, and film/video production.

Help needed: Judges that do not have or know any students entering in the competition.

October -

Spirit Week (Sept. 27th-30th) / Spirit Night(Sept. 30th)

Description: Homecoming week wherethe students have designated theme days as part of the class competition ending in a night where they participate in fun activities for more friendly class competition. This activity is co-sponsored with the school.

Help needed: Sell spirit items during school lunches, volunteers to help put together the spirit items, volunteers to help with activities, concessions, set up and cleanup.

December

Holiday Breakfast

Description: A holiday treat for the faculty and staff to enjoy breakfast before they start their day.

Help needed: Setup, cleanup, and donations for breakfast items such as juice, coffee, danishes, fruit, yogurt, and any other breakfast foods.

March

Health and Fitness Day

Description: A fun filled day where the students can participate in a variety of activities and get educated in making healthy decisions about their lifestyle. Several businesses and organizations come out to provide an activity or booth with information for the students. This event is co-sponsored with the school and normally held the Friday before Spring Break.

Help needed: Bottles of water, healthy snacks, lunch for the staff and volunteers, volunteers to help pass out water/snacks, hand out wristbands during lunches and the day of for those participating, set up and clean up, and input for any business or organization within the health and fitness industry that would be willing to participate or provide a donation for items needed.

April

Auction

Description: A silent auction will take place as part of our monthly PTSA meeting

Help needed: A committee and chair, any type of item that someone can place a bid on, set up, cleanup, reviewing bids to determine highest bidder

May

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Description: During Teacher Appreciation week lunch is provided to the faculty and staff to show our appreciation of all the work that they do for the school and students.

Help needed: Setup, serve, cleanup, and depending on funds donations for food may be needed.
