/ Deliberation:
Ask students to support one point of view on topic and then take the support opposing point of view of how theme, décor, and entertainment affect choice of food and beverage. Write a position paper. (individual or as a group to present)
Pair Problem Solving:
A problem solving technique in which one member of a pair is the “thinker” who thinks aloud as they try to solve the problem and the other member is the “listener” who analyzes and provides feedback on the “thinkers” approach.
Divide class in to teams and have each team come up with a theme and the décor for the theme.
Display board:
Create a display board for each idea
Buzz Sessions:
Use small informal groups to discuss different types of entertainment and the appropriate events.
Challenge Envelopes:
Real life problems or scenarios are placed in an envelope. Students draw envelops and respond to the challenge by identifying the best solution to address the challenge.
Story Board:
Each group from the “Challenge Envelope” listed above expound on the problem by recommending a theme, décor and the entertainment on a digital or physical storyboard.

Case Studies:
Students are provided with client studies that need assistance developing a budget for an event. Students develop a client portfolio using the information to develop a financial plan to meet the need and vision of the client. / Chrome book or pencil and paper.

Unit/Course Culminating Product: / Students create a portfolio based on an event at school including theme, décor and entertainment working within a given budget.
Example: Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, Open Door Wednesday for visiting parents, Business Expo etc.
