2016-2017 Panhellenic Council Recruitment

The Panhellenic Recruitment & Intake Team will be responsible for the development and execution of all recruitment and intake related activities for the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 academic year. These activities include, but are not limited to planning and hosting educational events for potential new members, promoting events via social and print media and providing skill–based programming for member chapters.

The Team will work in cooperation with the Panhellenic Vice President of Recruitment and the FSA Assistant Dean. The Team will consist of: (1) Media and Communication Coordinator, (2) Event Coordinators, (1) Operations Coordinator, (2) Coordinator of Recruitment Counselors and (x) Recruitment Counselors (this will be determined once the Coordinators are selected).

Please hand your applications in to FSA, 4th Floor of the Rutgers Student Center, by April 8th at 5pm. If you are unable to hand your application in during regular work hours, please drop in through the mail slot at 11 Bartlett with the envelope addressed to “Amanda Foster: Recruitment Team Application”. We will be reaching out to qualified applicants on a rolling basis. Interviews will be taking place beginning the week of April 11th.

Time Commitment: There will be a retreat on April 24 from 4pm to 7pm that will be mandatory for Team Members. There will be monthly - bi-monthly meetings over the summer to prepare for the fall events. Team members will also be required to attend at least 2 Involvement Fairs at the New Student Orientation during the summer. There will be weekly meetings in the fall (the day and time will be determined based on the team’s availability). Come spring semester, you are expected to be present during all Formal Recruitment and Orientation related events.

Event Coordinator - Positions Available: (2)

●  Represent the Panhellenic Council at University-sponsored Fall and Spring Information Fairs

●  Plan and implement Info Sessions/Outreach/Orientation Sessions in fall and spring

●  Create and execute events specifically designed to meet the needs of first year, upper-class, commuters and transfer students

●  Attend weekly Team Meetings

●  Be an active leader during Formal Recruitment

Media and Communications Coordinator - Positions Available: (1)

●  Create information pieces throughout the year (for distribution or display) about sorority membership -verifying information, write text, obtain photographs, create layout, etc.

●  Represent the Panhellenic Council at University-sponsored Fall and Spring Information Fairs

●  Manage the Rutgers Panhellenic Recruitment Facebook Page, and Twitter accounts, creating content and updating information weekly.

●  Manage the “Patty Panhel” Instagram and Twitter page.

●  Manage the Recruitment Tab on the Panhellenic Website

●  Utilize contact information from NSO to follow up with women who indicate a willingness to join a sorority

●  Utilize campus media (Targum, list serves, Student Life webpage, etc.) to publicize events and deadlines.

●  Design apparel for Formal Recruitment

●  Attend weekly Team Meetings

Qualified Applicants:

●  Have experience in long range planning

●  Are comfortable speaking in public

●  Possess strong written communication skills

●  Are comfortable multi-tasking

●  Understand current Panhellenic recruitment processes

●  Take direction and work as part of a team

●  Pay attention to detail

●  MUST be able to attend meetings during the summer months (including nights and weekends). Due to conflicting schedules, NSO Orientation Leaders will not be considered for Team positions.

●  Must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at all times.

Recruitment Counselor Coordinator - Positions Available: 2

●  Coordinate year-long training program including a retreats and monthly meetings to address topics like counseling and communication skills, recruitment rules, NPC policies, individual chapter knowledge etc.

●  Select and develop materials for Recruitment Counselor Resource Manual

●  Conduct, plan, and attend all training sessions

●  Attend and participate in all Council-sponsored information sessions/events as directed

●  Facilitate daily briefing sessions during formal recruitment

●  Work with FSA Staff to supervise procedure for Snap Bid distribution and confirmation

●  Assist in the evaluation process at the conclusion of recruitment

●  Attend weekly Team Meetings

Qualified Applicants:

●  Will be experienced at creating, leading and presenting to teams

●  Think on their feet

●  Exhibit understanding of current Panhellenic recruitment programming

●  Are comfortable holding others accountable

●  Take direction and work as part of a team

●  Are attentive to detail

●  Have participated in Formal Recruitment as an initiated member

●  Have previously served as a Recruitment Counselor (preferred) or have other counseling experience

●  Will disaffiliate prior to and during formal recruitment

●  Must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at all times.

Recruitment Team Operations Coordinator- Positions Available: (1)

·  Represent Panhellenic Council at Recruitment Events

·  Takes notes at Recruitment Team Meeting

·  Assist Recruitment Counselor Coordinators at their trainings

·  Be a present and active leader during Formal Recruitment

·  Be knowledgeable of the Recruitment Counselor’s job

·  Help with logistical tasks during recruitment

Qualified Applicants:

·  Be organized

·  Attention to detail

·  Are comfortable speaking in front of a crowd

·  Possess strong leadership skills

·  Will disassociate from her chapter prior to Formal Recruitment
