EVE: THE WOMAN WHO CONFORMED
Lesson Plan
I. Context: The Biblical records on the life of Eve especially how she was conformed and was fallen to sin.
II. Learning Objectives
After the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Know the basic details on the life of Eve (biography)
2. Know how Eve was fallen to sin
3. Understand that not all things which they see are good
4. Apply the lesson by making a decision not to easily conform to what they always see
III. Procedure
A. Devices/Resources
- Copies of Stimulating Pictures (e.g. ice cream, chocolate etc.)
- Copy of lyrics of the song: “Little Eyes, Be Careful What You See”
- Activity Sheets (Seatwork)
B. Methods and Sequence
1. Pre-discussion Activity: Learn a New Song
Instructions: Present the lyrics and teach the students how to sing the song entitled: "Little Eyes, Be Careful What You See"
2. Introduction: Eye Stimulation
Instructions: First, let the students close their eyes. Let them imagine an ice cream or a bar of chocolate. Reinforce their imagination by telling the characteristics of such foods. Now, let the students open their eyes. This time, present to the students several pictures of chocolate, cakes or ice cream. Let them compare what is more stimulating – hearing or seeing?
3. Discussion:
a. Who is Eve? (Biographical details)
b. What was the first commandment of God to Adam?
c. Where was Eve when the serpent tempted her?
d. How did Eve perceive the forbidden tree?
e. What did Eve do after the temptation and her perception of the fruit?
f. What were the consequences of Adam and Eve’s sins?
g. Why is it important not to easily conform to the things which we see?
