SESSION II: Preparing for Durban: Short-term prospects for the negotiations and global climate change policy
The session will concentrate on the implications of the ‘changed global climate change landscape” for EU domestic and especially international climate change policy and possible strategies for the short-term consistent with long-term objectives.

Session III. The long view
The afternoon session addresses the challenges of the transition to a low-carbon economy, especially in the light of some sort of transition period until a global agreement can be found. Challenges are illustrated at the example of transport. A concluding discussion will discuss ways to move forward and thereby bring economies onto a low carbon development path.
