11-11:10 – ESL123 – general information
· Many thanks to Alex and Keith for hosting the ESL table yesterday for International Week.
· The annual ESL Dept Winter Holiday Party will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 from 5-8 in a semi-private room at El Cholo, 1025 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401. All are welcome!
· Pam plans to return in January; Virginia’s last day is Dec. 20th.
· Flex forms should be signed, dated, and returned to my mailbox by today
· Remember to submit your SLO assessments at the same time you submit your final grades. For our purposes, “mastery” of an SLO indicates that the student has met the standards required to pass the class (not necessarily with an “A”). Regarding the SLO describing “academic behavior,” some students may not have achieved this one (if they cheated on an assignment, were chronically late to class, missed some minor assignments) but still have passed the class if they met the other SLOs.
· Final grades are due no later than January 6th. However, PLEASE submit them well before that deadline so that students have every opportunity to enroll in the winter and/or spring classes that they need.
The majority of this meeting is devoted to planning the final examinations for all core courses.

Next meeting: Spring departmental flex day, Mar 7, 9-3, ESL103. All classes are cancelled that day.
