Short description of the institution / Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de La Laguna is a public centre specialized in the teaching of languages: English, German, French and Russian. It is situated in La Laguna, Tenerife (Canary Islands), a town which has recently been declared UNESCO Heritage Site.
The school belongs to Canarian Regional Government Education Authority, and it offers adults the possibility of studying these foreign languages at three levels, Basic, Intemediate and Advanced. Our curriculum is in accordance with the specifications established by the Common European Framework of Reference for the teaching of languages.
Our teaching is aimed at adult students, from 16-year-old onwards, and it focuses on communicative teaching methods, in order to develop and improve the communicative skills of our students. Our students are a mix of different ages, procedence, nationalities, cultural and social levels.

PLACEMENT INFORMATION

Description of activities,tasks / The student will be asigned tasks such as:
-helping in the planning of class and cultural activities
-holding meetings with students for the practice of oral skills
-organizing social and cultural events in the school
The student will be at all times superivised by the teacher, the Head of Department.
Our school is developing language-learning tools aimed at making the Russian language attractive for Spanish adult speakers. Our students are willing to learn and we try to make it fun and interesting.

Details of financial and “in kind” support to be provided / The student will have access to the Internet in the workplace and will be given all the necessary materialfor the development of the assigned tasks.

Languages and level of competence required / Required:
Russian (C2 or native)
No other language skills required. Contact languages: Spanish, English, Russian, Polish
Computer skills and level of skills required / It is desirable for the student to have a linguistic and/or cultural background (a student of Linguistics, Anthropology, Translation and Cultural Studies, Literary Theory). S/he should be interested in learning methodologies, though it is not necessary to have a degree in methodology.
